Looking at story structure…
Very proud of this student who has been working really hard to add paragraphs and punctuation to make their work easier for the reader. 🤩 🏆
It is a pleasure to be able to spend time 1:1 pinpointing a child’s specific needs whilst using their interests to stay focused. ☺️
Next up - editing and publishing! 📖✏️
Happy Easter to all of my students! 🐣🐰🌸☀️🍫🌻

A great visual to show how important it is to build up those hand muscles ready for writing. TherapyPutty is a great way to build up strength and some of my students love the challenge of using a “tough” putty. You can use play doh at home to practise. Search “Dough Disco” on YouTube for lots of little exercises!☺️
Using practical resources and pictures to help with early understanding of multiplication. Great work! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Learning spellings can be hard! We try lots of little ways to help learn those tricky words 🧐
The KS1 phonics screening check is something that takes place for Year 1 pupils during the Summer term.
This year, Year 2 pupils will be taking the paper in Autumn 2022 as the test was postponed last year.
The check is made up of real and pseudo (“alien”) words. The children are expected to blend the sounds for reading.
There are lots of games online to help practise these words, or please get in touch if you would like to know more! ☺️
Latest government guidance which highlights-
“Children who receive one-to-one tuition may make, on average, 5 months additional progress.”
This may especially benefit children who have missed out on learning due to the pandemic.
If you feel your child would benefit from a primary tutor, please do get in touch! ☺️

The joy of tutoring - being able to completely tailor individual sessions to suit the needs and interests of the child 😍
The government have today published their plans to help schools and pupils who have lost valuable learning time this past 18 months.
The report has highlighted the effectiveness of tuition to accelerate children’s learning due to high quality, tailored teaching and feedback.

Lengthy document but easy to jump to relevant sections. Some parents have found examples in this document useful when understanding new mathematical methods 😊
Some amazing persuasive writing by one of my year 5 students. We wrote to his favourite gaming producer to try and persuade them to add a new character to their games. Fingers crossed we get a response!
