Recently Oaks have been having a great time learning about the Olympics and visiting a local garden. Even though it rained on us, we had a great time picking flowers which we then used for a Japanese art activity.
With other school children across England we are participating in a daily mile walk as part of the well being programme in schools. The Daily Mile UK
The children have been exploring Hope and what it means to us as individuals. Central to their discussions were hopes for the future of planet Earth. Our children, as global citizens, would like world leaders to work together to protect and value our beautiful planet. This banner represents all their hopes for the future.
‘Learn from yesterday, Live for today, Hope for tomorrow.’ Albert Einstein
All the children came bouncing back to the school this week. A brilliant first week back to school!
This playground is ready for the children to come back to school!
Our new multi-purpose all-weather track is completed and ready.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday!
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone
Thank you Knepp Castle Estate for the kind donation of the Christmas tree.
Lovely end to our winter term, children had Christingles service at school.
Sycamores Class created a dove which is a symbol of peace throughout the world. They decorated the doves with symbols of Peace which reflected the views of the 6 world religions on peace.
We are wearing odd socks to school as part of Anti-Bullying Week.
In forest school the children in KS2 classes made colourful wooden 'beach style' houses. They used a bow saw to cut the roof tops and painted them in bright colours. They then decorated them in different ways, adding detail with pens. Finally they made a chimney by hammering a nail into the roof. They look fantastic standing in a row in our classrooms!
Space is a real luxury in these strange times. All our children have Forest school as a regular part of our curriculum once a week every week. The children learn through activities outside as a group and at the end they sit and reflect around the fire circle.
We have 2 areas for forest school activities. In the pictures are ks1 classes learning and enjoying their hot drink by the fire circle.
