Tree pose (Vrksasana)

This is one of my favourite poses to share with children. Start with level one - one foot on top of the other, once they find their balance they can lift the foot against the calf. For level 3 progress to foot to thigh (always avoid the knee joint). Level 4 hands in front of heart and level 5 reach hands up above the head.
Still easy? Close your eyes!

This pose is great for building focus and helps children build coordination, balance and confidence.

It’s also easy to enjoy with a partner you can stand back to back or side to side and join your hands between you.

Tag me in your pics - I can’t wait to see you them!

A super home educating mumma reached out to me today about sharing yoga and it made me realised I haven’t talked about this for a while.

Yoga is fantastic for children helping both their physical and mental health. We build strength, balance coordination and meanings in flexibility whilst also building confidence. My resources help parents share child safe poses and mindfulness safely in an age appropriate way.

I have a great offer to support home ed families who want to share my resources with their families - if you’re interested please send me a dm and I’ll get all the details over to you!

👋 It’s been a while since I said hi to everyone and welcome to my new followers - thank you for being a part of the Inner Child Yoga School community!

I’m Vic, a mother, teacher and children’s yoga specialist. I founded the Inner Child Yoga School with the mission of making the benefits of yoga accessible to all children and I’m making good progress. With schools joining my membership, teachers and parents benefiting form my resource bank, articles published in magazines such as Om Yoga Magazine, Education Choices and JUNO along with all the in person work I do in school, I’m spreading the word about children’s yoga as far and wide as I can.

If you’d like to share the benefits of yoga with children in a safe and age appropriate way, please get in touch as I’d love to help!

Throwing back this evening to an article I wrote for about why your school should make room for yoga in their busy curriculum.
If you’d like to take a look at my free information pack for schools and free taster lesson plans please send me a message.

Do you know a child or teen who is studying for exams? The pressures of exams can have a huge impact on young people and it’s important that we support them and make sure they know their value and wroth lies outside of exams grade.
Here are some practice tips for how you can support them during this time.
I’d love to hear what you do to help the children you work or live with during exam season.

Something I hear all the time is that “my child just won’t concentrate on anything”. I hear it from teachers as well “my class just can’t focus”.
Yoga is a research backed way to help your child focus and build their attention span. Balancing poses are great for focus finding as are lots of the breathing techniques we use.
If you really want to help your child build their focus my Find Your Focus series is waiting for you. It’s a six week programme with pre-recorded yoga classes, a printable journal and my tips for success for you - the parent/teacher.

NB - the series is included as a bonus in my school subscription 😉

I have space to take on a new 1:1 client for a children’s yoga class on a weekly (or bi-weekly) basis.

The children I work with 1:1 currently range in age from 3-14 and all benefits from this type of class for different reasons.

Whether your child finds group classes overwhelming, has specific goals or needs or simply can’t make a group class due to a busy schedule, 1:1 classes might be for them.

Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss whether I could help your child through yoga.

Swipe to see a recent review of my 1:1 classes

Yoga is a really super way to build up children’s confidence.
It’s not a competitive space yet we still challenge our bodies and improve poses as we practice them.
The practices of gratitude and positive mantras have a profound affect on our mental health and positivity too.
