🌈 Celebrating Pride Month in Primary 🌈
As part of our Pride Month celebrations, our primary pupils learned about the history of Pride and explored the lives and achievements of some significant individuals who identify as LGBTQ+.
The children then enjoyed taking part in a range of creative and sensory activities, including making a beautiful multi-sensory collage of the Pride flag and decorating cupcakes in the colours of the rainbow flag. 🏳️‍🌈🧁
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and encourage discussions about kindness, respect, and acceptance of others.
Well done to all of our pupils for their enthusiasm and creativity! 🌟

🌟 Science Museum Adventure! 🌟
Yesterday, two of our pupils embraced the challenge of travelling by train and London Underground during their visit to the Science Museum – and what a fantastic day it was! 🚆🌍
They showed great confidence and resilience throughout the journey, adapting brilliantly to the busy environment and demonstrating excellent independence skills along the way.
At the museum, they thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Space 🚀, Medicine 🩺, and Flight ✈️ exhibitions, showing curiosity, enthusiasm, and engaging positively with the interactive displays.
A huge thank you to our staff members for supporting the trip and helping to create such a memorable and rewarding experience for our pupils. 👏😊

As a reward for consistent hard work and positive behaviour throughout this academic year, 16 pupils from Primary were given the opportunity to spend the day at Drusillas Animal Park. They loved walking round the zoo, seeing the meerkats, monkeys, penguins and many other animals. They challenged themselves to see which animal they were most like, by hanging for as long as possible, running as fast as they could and shouting LOUDLY! They also enjoyed traversing the climbing wall (well done Ezra for making it all the way across without being eaten by the shark!), going on the cheetah and hippo rides and playing in the playground. It was a wonderful day, and was well deserved!

The year 11 and post 16 students had a fantastic day on Monday filled with dips, twists and turns at the fabulous Thorpe Park this week.
They all had an amazing time and were really brave trying all the large roller-coasters like Hyperia, Stealth and Colossus... braver than some of the staff!!

We will miss them all so much when they go on to new challenges but so pleased we got to make some new barn memories with them all.

✨ Horsham Children’s Parade! ✨
We’re excited for the upcoming Horsham Children’s Parade on Sunday, 5th July! 🎉
📍 Please bring your Primary children to meet us behind Horsham Drill Hall at 10:45am, ready for the parade to set off at 11:00am.
🚶‍♂️ The route will take us through town, finishing at Horsham Park around 12:00pm.
🎠 This year’s theme is “Children’s Childhood”, and we’re delighted that New Barn will be showcasing a fairground! Our group will be carrying two Carousel Horses, along with bumper cars and candy floss for the children 🍭—it’s going to be a wonderfully fun experience!
⏰ Please remember to collect your child from Horsham Park at 12:00pm.
We look forward to seeing as many of our primary pupils there as possible! 😊

🌿 Young Park Champions in Action! 🌿

We are proud to welcome New Barn School volunteers!

After completing their safety briefing and first litter pick on Friday, 19 June, we’re delighted to see the pupils from New Barn School back again today as they continue their fantastic work in Horsham Park.

The pupils will be returning each week until the end of term, helping to keep our park clean, welcoming, and litter-free throughout the summer.

A huge thank you to all the pupils and staff for their enthusiasm, hard work, and commitment to caring for our local green space. Your efforts are making a real difference, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our community.

💚 Together, we can keep Horsham Park beautiful for everyone.
