Well that was a busy week! We’ve been working with the team from Horsham District Council on Love Parks week 2026. When 350 children from the Horsham district stop by to try out some forest crafts, learning how to use tools safely, bringing their imagination, their stories, their questions and their sense of fun and adventure - safe to say I’m ready for a holiday! Wonderbugs will return back with my mindees on September 1st for another year of curiosity, fun and learning - childminder/forest school leader signing off for a few weeks 💚

Then it was back to the real world for the last full week before the end of term! This week we’ve been thinking about healthy eating and paid a visit to see Nicole’s amazing fruit and vegetable garden (and got to sample some of her goodies) as well as feed the chickens, collect the eggs and cuddle and feed the guinea pigs. At home we’ve been counting out and sorting fruits and on Thursday we had our last forest school session of the year where we made hot dogs on the fire (one of those ‘sometimes’ foods rather than an every day food but they were rather delicious! 😳)

I was lucky enough to visit Norway again last weekend to see my niece once more before she heads back to Australia - the forests near Bergen are spectacular, the mossy forest floor feels like you're entering a magical world. It's the friluftsliv life for me! (friluftsliv - Norwegian concept of open air living, being in nature)

Horsham District Council is pleased to announce the return of its popular Love Parks Week and is encouraging everyone to get out and about and enjoy all that our local parks and green spaces have to offer. 🌳
This year Love Parks Week is being celebrated across the District from Monday 27 July to Friday 31 July and offers a packed programme of activities at several of its most attractive and popular green spaces.
The aim of the campaign is to get out and about in the great outdoors and have fun, connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of our local parks. 🌿
