We had fun this afternoon exploring how Roman roads were built. We worked in groups to create a piece of Roman road using a range of materials and then tested them out with a toy car. We explained why we had chosen different materials and the layers we had used in our designs.

Amongst other activities in Fox Class this week, the children investigated the effects of air resistance on different sized parachutes, in order to answer the question, ‘does the surface area effect how long it takes to fall to the ground?’ The parachute with largest surface area took the longest to fall to the ground as less air resistance is acting upon it.
