Fiesta Fun in Year 5!
To bring the study of Brazil alive in Year 5, last Wednesday was ‘Samba Day’. The
following was written by Charlie:
Samba Day was incredibly fun! We got to play the drums and other instruments,
have a party and make our own headdresses. We performed the carnival music

National Volunteers Week!
As it is National Volunteers week we would like say a heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful volunteers, governors, and FOY members. Your time, dedication, and support make a real difference to our Yattendon school community and help create the best possible opportunities for our children. We are truly grateful for everything you do!

Last week, Year 4 enjoyed a day steeped in Viking history.
Many of the children dressed in Viking costume and a few had

🌱 Meet our new Eco Rangers! 🌱
We’re excited to introduce our Eco Rangers, a fantastic group of pupils passionate about caring for our school and the environment. At their very first meeting today, the Eco Rangers carried out a survey of our school grounds to discover the wildlife, flowers and bugs we already share our space with.
This is just the beginning of their eco journey and we can’t wait to see how their ideas and actions help our school become even greener! 🐝🌼

National Offer Day Update 😊
This week, families in Surrey have found out their child’s primary school placement and we are looking forward to welcoming parents and carers of our new intake to the Yattendon community.
While falling birth rates are affecting schools nationally, the Horley area has largely avoided this. That said, for September 2026 we do currently have a small number of Year 3 vacancies and no waiting list.
If you know anyone moving into the area who may be looking for a Year 3 place, we’d really appreciate you spreading the word. We are incredibly proud of Yattendon’s strong reputation and the high quality education our children enjoy. 🌟
