Today our rooms took part in a variety of activities to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday 🌍🦋🐢
The children explored activities linked to animals, nature, habitats and the natural world, encouraging conversations about caring for our planet and protecting wildlife — something David Attenborough has inspired generations to do 💚
Through sensory play, creative activities and hands-on exploration, the children learned more about the beauty of the world around them and the importance of looking after it for the future 🌿🌎
Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough — and thank you for continuing to inspire us all to appreciate and protect our amazing planet 🌱

✨ Mark Making with a Twist in Our Toddler Room! ✨
Today our toddlers explored mark making in a very exciting way… by turning tables upside down and wrapping them in paper to create a brand-new surface to draw and paint on! 🎨✏️
Young children love exploring in different ways, and mark making doesn’t have to be limited to sitting at a table. By offering new positions, heights and surfaces, children are encouraged to move their whole bodies, stretch, reach and experiment.
This fun, large-scale activity supported:
🌈 Creativity and imagination
💪 Physical strength and coordination
🧠 Curiosity and problem-solving
👀 Awareness of space and movement
The children were excited to explore, and so proud of the marks they created. Activities like this show that learning can be messy, playful and full of joy — and that sometimes the best ideas come from turning things upside down! ✨
