Where are YOU in your home ed journey??

Hi, I am Vanessa and I home educate both my children.

My husband and I decided years before even having kids that we would provide them with the "ultimate private education" by teaching them ourselves.

There are so many reasons behind that decision, including a desire to give them personal attention in their learning journeys and also to spend quality time together as a family. We are not hippies nor anti-establishment, we just sincerely want our children to have the best possible education from "teachers" that truly love them and have their best interests at heart.

We had an absolutely awesome day at The Gordon Brown Outdoor Education Centrelast week. Building camp fires & shelters; meeting the farm animals; doing archery, high ropes & climbing. Lots of new friends made and old friendships strengthened while developing critical thinking and teamwork skills!
Honestly, It also made for a welcome break from all the academics and exam prep for some of the teens ⛺️🔥🌳🪾🎯

This photo was taken outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London, where the children participated in a mock trial (2025). Individual students played the roles of barristers, judges, jurors, defendant, and witnesses after many weeks of intense preparation.

Prosecution and defence had to prepare and present their cases, examine evidence and cross examine witnesses on the stand.

This gave a real practical understanding of the British justice system, and provided an insight into some careers in the legal industry.

The case study was based on a real criminal case, and it was ever so interesting comparing our outcome vs what actually happened.

📸We were not allowed to take any photos inside the building.
