Ghanaian drummer, Abass Dodoo, has been leading LWC's 2nd Form in an African drumming masterclass.

Exploring the origins of the music that has taken him all around the world, Abass encouraged everyone to step beyond their comfort zones by making the beats bold.

Capturing nearly 1,000 members of the LWC community in the whole-school photo is no mean feat.

It took a team of photographers, many metres of staging, a brief respite from some unexpected drizzle and Haygate House's cavapoo, Lottie, to bring it all together.

College ✔️ Leavers ✔️ Prefects ✔️ Houses ✔️ all done for 2026.

Then one turns up going all the way to LWC.

There’s a new Sunday evening ritual for our weekly boarders based in the capital.

Tea at home, then aboard the bus and back to LWC for the week ahead in the Hampshire countryside.

We ❤️ to see our Sternians.

And our current students love to hear their stories.

As part of the regular Friday Forum, a group of our alumni joined us in The 1200 to give insights into their experience of university, gap years and beyond.

From stories of playing cricket in Australia to studying Aerospace Engineering, they provided food for thought for our current Upper Sixth, as part of our vast Futures Programme.

All rounded off by a cup of tea with the Head. 🫖

Pulling together 🛶

LWC's 3rd Form have started the term with dragon boating and sleeping under the stars.

Our Year 9 students have enjoyed a series of team-building exercises on the River Thames and in the College's Copse.

A BBQ, stargazing and mandala-making were also on the itinerary.

Mandalas feature complex, circular designs and are widely believed to calm thoughts and focus the mind.

Bodes well for this academic year... ☸

A cut above… ✂

London Fashion Week may be about to start, but the love of textiles at LWC stretches way beyond fashion.

We can now reveal these incredible pieces, completed in just 10 hours under exam conditions, by last year’s GCSE Textiles students.

85% of GCSE Textiles grades at LWC were marked 9-6.

LWC’s Design & Technology Department will soon have a new home in The Grove, our 21st-century hub for Art, Design, Computer Science, Film & Media.

We're proud of our place in the landscape.

LWC occupies a special position, both geographically and educationally.

We're thrilled to have been named a finalist in two categories of the Independent Schools of the Year Awards, for the second consecutive year.

We've been shortlisted for Regional Independent School of the Year: South, over 100 years after we were founded to provide an education for the orphaned children of local agricultural workers.

LWC has also been nominated for the Rising Star of the Year Award, celebrating the work of former LWC student Thomas, who completed his A-level studies with us this summer.

During his time at the College, Thomas helped to design, create and develop a solar cooker, capable of saving thousands of lives from waterborne diseases.

From widening worlds to changing the world. 🌍

Puddex! 🏏⚾️

It's been played for generations at LWC and the one constant is that no one can ever 100% agree on the rules. 🤔

All of the College's Houses gathered for the annual Interhouse Puddex to kick-start Autumn Term.

The game is based on cricket and rounders and remains a core memory for all who pass through The 1200.
