Our hockey goalkeepers had an incredible lunchtime training session this week with a special masterclass from the brilliant Karen Wilton, LWC coach!

The session was packed with high energy and so much fun, and the progress made by our keepers in just one lunchtime was absolutely fantastic to see.

🎤 The Art of the Pitch!

Our Year 7 pupils were delighted to welcome Andy Smith back to St Neot's as part of their English advertising project.

An experienced business leader and Vistage UK Chair, Andy has enjoyed an impressive career working with some of the most recognisable names in the beauty industry, including John Frieda's iconic Frizz-Ease range. He also shared his experience of working closely with Nicky Kinnaird during the early development of Space NK, now a hugely successful international beauty retailer.

With their very own Dragons' Den presentations approaching, our pupils had a wonderful opportunity to learn from someone with firsthand experience of developing brands, launching products and bringing business ideas to life.

Andy shared valuable advice on creating a successful pitch, communicating with confidence and persuading an audience, giving our budding entrepreneurs plenty of inspiration for their own advertising campaigns.

It was particularly special to welcome a former pupil back to inspire the next generation.

A huge thank you to Andy for sharing his time, expertise and enthusiasm with our Year 7s! We look forward to welcoming Andy back on Tuesday, when he will join our panel of Dragons to hear our Year 7 pupils pitch their exciting business ideas!

Did you know that a prescription for fresh air and pine trees is what brought the foundations of modern St Neot’s to Eversley?

This week, we are looking back into our school archives to celebrate the incredible legacy of Reverend Aubrey Hooper, who took over the care of the school from our second Headmaster, Arthur Delme-Radcliffe, and helped shape the vibrant community we know today.

After serving in WWI and leading Sherborne Prep, Reverend Hooper moved his family to Eversley in 1929 on medical advice to help speed up his child's recovery. The doctor's orders were specific: the child needed to be surrounded by the area's beautiful pine trees!

From a family seeking health and fresh air grew a deep-rooted tradition of leadership, tight-knit community spirit, and an enduring "Old Boys" network that blossomed during the Hooper family's 60-year tenure.

We are incredibly proud of our history and the dedicated figures who built our brilliant foundations.

What a brilliant way to celebrate National Poetry Day!

Our Year 7 and 8 pupils were incredibly lucky to spend time with award winning poet and author Matt Goodfellow, author of The Final Year.

Matt spoke passionately about poetry as a form of “rebel writing”, encouraging our pupils to forget about getting everything perfect and instead play with words, ideas and their own voices. Poetry doesn’t always have to follow the rules!

It was an inspiring and energetic session, leaving the children buzzing with ideas and ready to take their own poetry back into the classroom.

Our pupils were transported straight back in time to get a true taste of reality as a Victorian schoolchild. The classrooms were uncharacteristically quiet and exceptionally well-behaved, which was probably for the best given how incredibly strict the punishments were!

The children experienced a full timetable of traditional lessons inside the transformed Performing Arts Centre, including outdoor PE drills, chanting lines from reading books, and rigorous handwriting and arithmetic practice. They finished their historic adventure by setting up a bustling Victorian market to sell their own handmade creations to the Year 3 pupils, which provided a brilliant opportunity to learn the art of bartering and trading.

It was a truly fantastic day of history brought to life, and I think we can all agree that Miss Phelan was absolutely terrifying in character! Thankfully, she is back to her usual lovely self now. Well done, Year 5, for throwing yourselves into the experience so brilliantly!

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our Year 2 Football Tournament, and we were thrilled to welcome the wonderful players and communities from and It was truly great to see you all! The pitches were absolutely buzzing from start to finish, showcasing so much incredible talent, brilliant competition, and, most importantly, endless smiles and fun. Every single player brought amazing energy to the games.

We want to say a massive thank you to all the parents and families who came out in full force to cheer, encourage, and support the players from the sidelines, as your enthusiasm made the atmosphere so special. A huge well done goes to our incredible Year 8 students, who did a phenomenal job helping our pupils warm up and refereeing the matches with real leadership and maturity. We were also incredibly proud of our creative Year 2 superstars, who took charge and made up their very own brilliant warm-up routines ahead of the games. Days like today remind us what our school sports community is all about, so well done to everyone involved!

Our Year 4 art group have been absolute stars this week, diving into the ancient world to explore the fascinating skill of ink printmaking!

Drawing inspiration from classical Roman art, architecture, and intricate mosaic patterns, the children worked hard to design their own unique templates. They then mastered the technique of ink pressing, carefully rolling out the ink and pressing their designs to transfer their artwork onto paper.

The focus in the room was brilliant as they experimented with textures, clean lines, and geometric repeats to bring their Roman-influenced ideas to life. Every single print turned out so distinct and striking!

Our dining room truly came to life this week as we hosted our highly anticipated annual Governors’ Dinner. The room looked spectacular, transformed entirely in vibrant St Neots colours to set the stage for a wonderful evening of celebration, speeches, and lively chatter.

The absolute stars of the night were our incredible Year 8 students, who took on the role of hosts for the evening. They welcomed our governors with immense maturity, served the guests beautifully, and looked after everyone with poise and professionalism. We could not be prouder of how brilliantly they represented the school, and we extend a huge thank you to Mr Poledon, Head of Year 8, for his brilliant guidance and leadership of the pupils.

An event of this scale takes an immense amount of work, and we want to express our gratitude to our entire behind-the-scenes team who worked so hard to put this together. A big thank you must also go to our fantastic catering team for preparing such a truly delicious menu that delighted all our guests.

Finally, a special shout-out goes to Julia, Mr Slots’ PA, whose meticulous planning and dedication ensured the evening was a resounding success. Thank you, Julia, and well done to everyone involved!
