Sunny Days Nursery was opened in November 2015 and is located on Heathpark Industrial Estate next to the Playdome. Our professional and qualified staff are here to scaffold your child's learning through offering experiences that provide fun and challenge. We feel it is important that families feel welcomed into the setting and that sharing inform

ation is key to ensuring the best provision for the child and the best possible outcomes. Children have access to a large outdoor area where they can explore and be safe in the differing environments. Children enjoy a varied menu, using locally sourced produce and all food is cooked on site.

Our Teddy Bears’ Picnic was so much fun! 🧸💛

We were joined by lots of our grown-ups, and our teddy-themed activities went down a treat. There were bear hunts, stories, picnics, porridge to feed the bears and, of course, face painting – although one or two little cheetah did manage to sneak into the teddy bear proceedings! 😄🐆

The weather kept us guessing, so we picnicked in preschool and under the shelter in the garden… before the sunshine decided to join us after all! ☀️

For some of our children, this was their very last week with us before heading off to big school, so it was especially lovely to have so many families here enjoying the day together. 🧸☀️💛

PCSO Fudge came to see us and we were all VERY excited to meet him! 🚓👮‍♂️💛

The children had lots of questions as they explored some of his equipment, tried on his hat and learned a little more about how the police help to keep us safe. Then came the really exciting bit… heading outside to investigate the police car! There was even a chance to climb inside and take a seat behind the wheel. 😀🚔

The children had made a thank you card for PCSO Fudge, and he very kindly brought everyone a sticker too.

And the verdict on his visit?

“When’s PC Fudge coming back?” 😄

Hopefully before Christmas if we’re lucky! A huge thank you to PCSO Fudge for taking the time to come and see us – we absolutely loved having you. 💛💙

This week has been one big pizza party! 🍕💛

We've all joined in, making our own dough, slopping on the sauce (this was as messy as it sounds 😆), sprinkling the cheese, and choosing exactly which toppings to add to our own pizzas.

The children were very excited to see their tasty creations cooked and ready to eat… and we're happy to report that every single pizza passed the taste test with flying colours! 😋

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating our Preschool Class of 2026! 🎓💛

With a record number of children getting ready for their next adventure, it was so lovely to come together with parents and carers to celebrate everything they've achieved during their time at Sunny Days.

There were graduation gowns, certificates, a very special performance, lots of proud photo opportunities, and a picnic together to round off the celebrations. Most importantly, there were plenty of smiles (and maybe a few emotional grown-ups too! 😊).

Thank you to all the families who joined us and for the lovely feedback you've shared since. It's been a privilege to be part of your child's early years, and we wish every one of our graduates the very best as they head off to big school.

Good luck, Class of 2026 – we know you're going to be amazing! 💛

A few photos from our recent INSET day with our lovely colleagues from Sunny Days Bridport. 💛

Taking a day out of the nursery for training is so important. It gives us the chance to learn together, share ideas and make sure we're always giving the children the very best experience we can.

Of course, it's also a lovely opportunity to spend time with friends from across our Sunny Days family. We don't often all get to be in the same place, so it's always nice to catch up, work together and enjoy a few laughs along the way.

And we have to give a special shoutout to Scott, who absolutely spoiled us with an incredible lunch. He did us proud! 👏😊

Some of you may already have met Scott, but today he got to meet our local Environmental Health team too! 😄

After working with us for just a matter of days, Scott was on hand during their routine inspection… and we're delighted to share that we've once again been awarded a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 for our food hygiene rating!

A huge well done to Scott and the whole team – we're so pleased! 💛

Handa’s Surprise is always a firm favourite around here! 🍍🍌🍊

The children have been enjoying the story and exploring some of the fruits from Handa’s basket for themselves – looking, touching, smelling and, where possible, tasting too 😄

There’s been lots of chatting about the different fruits, plenty of guessing what might happen next, and of course lots of giggles at the cheeky animals helping themselves along the way.

It really is a surprise! 🐒💛

Over the past month, we’ve been following the life cycle of butterflies 🐛🦋

The children have loved watching them grow and change in real time – from tiny caterpillars, to chrysalises, and finally beautiful butterflies ready to head off into the world.

On Friday and again today, we released a couple of them outside, which caused lots of excitement (and a few very eager little helpers 😄).

Such a lovely thing for the children to experience and be part of 💛

We’ve got something really important coming up…

We’ll be hosting a St John Ambulance First Aid Awareness Session here at the nursery. It’s free to attend and a great opportunity to learn the basics of how to help in an emergency.
