Another amazing afternoon, today I performed music and sang for the Honiton carers support group.

Panto band music more or less complete, so now I can focus on a concert I have coming up in September, playing Piano as background for a golden wedding anniversary.
They have sent me a lovely long list of pieces they would like performed, from Chopin to Musicals and even some lovely Jazz numbers too.

I have many other concerts coming up through-out August and September.

Thrilled to say the 8th student passed their Grade 1 piano exam.
So that's 7 out of 8 passed!!
Happy days.

In total I have put 8 students in for their music exams this term.
I am still waiting for the results for one student, who did their performance exam on piano on Saturday afternoon.

So far I have had 6 students pass their exams.
So proud of each one of them, no matter if they passed or didn't pass. I am so proud of them all.

I will keep you all updated on the result of the last student.
Never before have I put 8 students in for music exams in one go.

Well, that's a wrap. Last day of working in the schools for summer, then I start back on 11th September.
During this time I do a few private tuition lessons, and a few concerts in the care homes.
I spend this time sorting out pantomime music;.
getting everything planned for September and also practicing too.

It's so rewarding when you get an email from ABRSM saying, the four students that did their exam on Monday PASSED.

So pleased them all.

So, I only have 1 student left to do their grade 1 piano performance grade on Saturday.
The difference for this exam is we record it and send it to ABRSM

Other exam boards are also available, though I chose the ABRSM, I do teach the Trinity music board too.

Monday 6th I have 4 piano taking their music exams.
One is taking their grade 1 exam, all the other 3 are taking their initial grade exam
I wish them all the best of luck for their exams.

Results of last weekends violin exam:
Grade 6 violin student passed 🎉
One initial grade violin student passed 🎉
The other one, did their absolute best.
Though we didn't pass this time, we're not being defeated. We are stronger 💪 and alteast we can say, we have tried, that itself is an amazing achievement.

So what's happening this week with Emily Miller Music?
We wait for results music exams, though while we wait I still have 5 more students yet to do their piano exams.
3 students taking their initial piano exam and 1 student taking their grade 1 piano exam on the 6th July.
Then 1 student taking their performance grade 1 piano exam on 11th July. So lots of preparation for that.

As well as that, we have the Sidmouth Amateur Dramatic Society's read through of their panto on Monday 29th June and auditions on 3rd and 5th of July.

We do like to keep busy, as always. 😀🎵🎹🎭

Even though it has been extremely hot weather, if the school's are open, I still go in to work.
After school lessons are still happening as I have a fan to try and keep students cool.
If I am due to perform at a care home, I will still go in.
We will get though this hot weather.
