The 2025 season was not an easy one for Richmond Champion. Battling through multiple injuries, he was forced to step away earlier than planned, putting his momentum on hold and testing both his patience and resilience. For any rodeo athlete, injuries are part of the game—but how you return defines who you are.

Conner Halverson continues to prove that he belongs among the toughest competitors in professional bull riding. One of his most recent standout achievements came in January 2025, when he finished second at the PBR Spokane event on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour.

At Spokane, Halverson showed strong form and composure, highlighted by an 85.5-point ride to win the opening round, followed by consistent performances that carried him to a runner-up finish overall. The result earned him valuable Velocity Tour points and further momentum in his push toward the sport’s top level.

This performance built on his growing reputation as a rider capable of delivering when the pressure is on. Earlier, Halverson had already turned heads with a 90-point ride at a PBR Unleash The Beast event in New York, showing he can match scores with the elite riders in the world.

With steady improvement, big-round rides, and increasing confidence, Conner Halverson is clearly a name to watch as he continues his climb in PBR competition.

Brady Fielder won the Unleash The Beast event in Boston (TD Garden) in early January 2026, going a perfect 3-for-3 and taking the event title in front of a sellout crowd.
He earned approximately $54,800 for that victory — not $40,000 — and posted a tour-high 91.20 score in the championship round aboard Eyes On Me.

Kody Lostroh is a former American professional rodeo cowboy best known for his success in Professional Bull Riders (PBR) competition. He specialized in bull riding, earning a reputation as one of the sport’s toughest and most respected athletes.

Lostroh won the PBR World Championship in 2009, a peak achievement in one of the toughest seasons in PBR history.

2005 PBR Rookie of the Year — He earned this early career title during his first season on the elite Built Ford Tough Series.

10× PBR World Finals Qualifier — He qualified for the PBR World Finals 10 consecutive times from 2005 through 2014.

24 event wins and 51 90-point rides during his career, earning over $3.2 million.
Ranked among the top bull riders in PBR history — In 2023 he was listed as No. 22 on the Top 30 Bull Riders in PBR history.
Lostroh’s career wasn’t without hurdles — after dealing with injuries and a serious health issue (a tumor around his carotid artery), he officially retired from bull riding in March 2018.

After retiring as a competitor: He has stayed involved in bull riding through coaching.
Since 2024 he has been the head coach of the New York Mavericks in the PBR Team Series, after working as an assistant coach for the Oklahoma Freedom.

Charles “Charlie” Sampson is one of the most important and groundbreaking figures in the history of professional rodeo. He made history in 1982 when he became the first African-American cowboy to win a PRCA World Championship, capturing the World Champion Bull Riding title. His victory was not only a personal achievement but a milestone that broke racial barriers in one of the toughest and most traditional sports in America.

His 1982 championship season remains legendary, as bull riding is widely considered one of the most dangerous and physically demanding events in rodeo. Sampson continued competing at a high level for many years and officially retired from professional rodeo competition in 1994, ending a career that spanned more than two decades.

As of early 2026, Charles Sampson is 68 years old. He is no longer an active competitor and does not participate in professional bull riding events. However, his connection to rodeo remains strong. Sampson continues to be involved in the rodeo world through mentorship, bull riding clinics, public appearances, and community events, where he shares his experience and inspires new generations of riders.

Bob Robertson is a respected name in Canadian rodeo, known for his toughness as a bull rider and his lifelong dedication to the sport. Raised on a farm near Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan, Bob dreamed of becoming a cowboy from a young age and began riding bulls as a teenager, learning the hard way through local rodeos and sheer determination.

He turned professional in 1973, launching a career that would span nearly two decades. Throughout the 1970s, Robertson established himself as one of Canada’s top bull riders, qualifying for the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) six times between 1974 and 1979. His success north of the border also carried into the United States, where he qualified for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in 1976, a major achievement for any Canadian cowboy.

Bob Robertson competed professionally for 19 years, riding bulls until his retirement after the 1987 Calgary Stampede. But his influence on rodeo did not end when he stepped away from competition. He went on to serve as President of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) from 1986 to 1989, helping guide the sport during an important period. He also became a respected Wrangler judge, officiating at the Canadian Finals Rodeo on numerous occasions.

In recognition of both his competitive career and his service to rodeo, Bob Robertson was inducted into the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2014, and later honored as Cowboy of the Year for his contributions to the sport.

LJ Jenkins — Carrying the All-Around Cowboy Tradition Forward!

Competing in the PRCA, Jenkins has primarily entered tie-down roping and team roping (heading), often taking on multiple events at the same rodeos—an increasingly rare path in today’s specialized era. His willingness to compete across disciplines earned him respect throughout the rodeo world and marked him as a throwback to the traditional cowboy model.

Over the years, LJ Jenkins has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) multiple times, competing in both tie-down roping and team roping. He has also enjoyed strong success on the road, finishing as a consistent money earner throughout the regular season, and capturing wins at numerous major rodeos and circuit events. His versatility has been especially evident in Canada, where he has posted notable performances at the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR).
He is often mentioned alongside fellow all-around competitors like Tuf Cooper, as part of a generation keeping rodeo’s traditional spirit alive.
