Thought I’d share this… and not to be showing off but because i’m proud to see my consistent effort - “especially over the last 6 months” pay off. 🤩

My husband spotted me at the weekend in the crowd taking a video for my mum and sent me this photo afterwards.

Basically his way of saying…” Check out how ripped you are.” Those guns are 🔥

There’s something pretty awesome about seeing your results unexpectedly . I’m not flexing, not posing and definitely not thinking about my physique - actually my arm was on fire as it was a really long song 🤣 ☘️ 🔥

I chat to soo many different women at different stages of their fitness journey on a daily basis and one thing stands out and I do it too 🙄 we NEVER stop to give ourselves praise, my running pace, my VO2, body fat and fitness in general has improved soo much over the last 6 months! Whilst I see and feel it it i’m straight away looking into how it could be better. 🤦‍♀️

So go me, Julie your arms look bloody awesome and no one’s gonna tell me different 🤣

Give yourselves a pat on the back ladies when you show up and celebrate those wins no matter how big or small💪🏻 and even better give a compliment to a friend, or a stranger and tell them they’re smashing it, if it’s fitness related or not! 🔊

At 46 ( almost 47) 👵 I’m lifting heavier than ever, still building my engine, still getting faster and feel fully in control of my nutrition ‘most days’ 😜 life is for living after all so I definitely had a pint of guiness at the festival (day before a huge cycling event too) 🍻 🎶

If you’re not feeling your best you too can make some changes in your day to day ❤️

Message me directly And we can chat 💬 I’ve something for everyone and various priced packages as I know to well how much school uniforms cost 💴 🫣

Busy Monday finished off with a lovely, chatty Zone 2 run around our local country park trails. 🌿🏃‍♀️

Do not underestimate the power and the benefits of a Zone 2 run. Not every run needs to leave you blowing out your ass. Sometimes the best runs are the ones where you can chat, breathe, take in your surroundings and just enjoy moving your body!

Now just sitting casually in my cold tub feeling very thankful for this body, this life and all the amazing, strong females I have in mine. 👸 ❤️

The heatwave is making a return and I don’t know about you, but I am FULLY here for it. ☀️

If you’re sitting thinking “I really need to get my s*t together…” what’s stopping you?

Need guidance?
Got dumbbells at home gathering dust?
Want a simple bodyweight plan without overcomplicating things?
Got an event coming up and want to build strength and help prevent injury?
Holiday approaching and want to feel S**T HOT in your bikini? 👙
Want to chase a PB at an upcoming parkrun? 🏃‍♀️

There are SO many reasons to lift weights and look after your cardiovascular fitness.

But do you know what, it’s worth doing just for the buzz - and It’s actually FUN ( type 2 fun) 😉

Who doesn’t want to feel stronger, fitter, leaner, lighter faster and push some limits 🔥 especially when feel-good hormones kick in afterwards!?

So stop waiting for the “perfect” time, the cooler weather, Monday, September when the kids are back, January… whatever excuse you’ve been using. 😂

DM me if you’re ready to stop making excuses and actually get started. It’s easier than you think and so much more rewarding than just dropping a few pounds on the scales 🙄

Borderlands Gravel Cycle 2026 you did NOT disappoint - and the crew in Belcoo behind this event lay it all on to make it worth the effort.

70K 🚴‍♀️
3,196ft climbing ⛰️
3 hours 42 ⏱️

My wee Fustle Causeway G2, freshly built, barely had a leg over it and it was an absolute WEAPON! Have no doubt that bike kept me upright today on some of those narrow ruts - it just wanted to go, with or without me 🫣

Thanks to everyone involved for a top day out.

Stick a fork in me tonight though 💤🔥

I’m treating my husband Alastair Beckett to a day out at the end of September to run the (I know how to spoil him eh) 😜

Bit of a focus right now on making sure the right sessions are built into my weekly training so I can try and beat him, although he’s annoyingly fast 🫣 🤫

Here’s the thing though lots of people need reminded of when they decide to train for a running race …..

“More miles isn’t always the answer”

Building strength helps you stay tall, keep your arm drive strong, and hold your running form when fatigue kicks in, i’m not a natural runner by any means but since I’ve dialed in my strength training and stuck with it I keep getting faster, even at 46 and it’s such a BUZZ 👵 ❤️

Who’s got an autumn race or fitness goal you’re working towards? I’d love to hear what you’re training for👇

Strength trainings is the glue that holds everything together…, something we don’t think about when we’re younger 😬

Love running? Lift.
Love cycling? Lift.
Love long walks? Lift.
Want to keep doing all of it in your 70s, 80s and beyond? Definitely prioritize strength training.

I find it so tempting to ditch the strength sessions when the weather’s good and run or cycle out the gate, but I’ve learnt in recent years that every time I stop lifting, old injuries start knocking on the door so my weights are now ‘non negotiable’. The sessions might be shorter over the summer months but they’ll get gone 2-3 times a week 💪🏻

And no, you don’t need a fancy gym. This dumbbell row for eg. can be done with a chair, a bench, your sofa… whatever you’ve got at home and there are hundreds of body weight exercises if you’re starting out.

Strength training isn’t about building the perfect body but If you focus on getting stronger you’ll end up feeling leaner, faster, oozing confidence 👙 and preventing injuries along the way 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️❤️

I’m a much nicer person to be around when
I’m not injured too 🫣

We had our own wee family commonwealth games today at the Bangor Sportsplex ❤️ Wasn’t quite the sunny blue skies we’ve had recently at the track but it was fun and in my head I was winning that gold medal (just much older and MUCH slower) 👵 😂.

Plan was to bang out x6 800’s with a 90 sec recovery and stay comfortable at sub 7.30 min mile pace . All but the first run were closer to 7.15 and I def felt I could’ve done more soo i’m a happy girl tonight and life is better because of it 😂😂😂

I know I’m a bit sad but I just love training and between you and me I think my husband has fallen in love with it too 🤫

Prob should enter something really 🫣

Some people still think Creatine is just for bodybuilders 🙄 it is one of the MOST researched, science-backed supplements available 📖

Creatine supports strength, muscle, improves training performance, aids recovery, helps preserve muscle as we age and supports brain health ( not that you’d think it ) 🤯😂

I take 5g of Nutrition Geeks creatine monohydrate every day and it’s a non negotiable (along with their magnesium an hour before bed each night) 💤 💪🏻

We would need to eat large amounts of red meat or fish every day to get the 3–5g of creatine that’s shown to support performance and muscle health and studies show that the average person is lucky to hit 1-2g.

So basically what I’m saying is, for my ‘finely tuned athletic machine’ body (wee jokes) a daily 5g creatine supplement is such an easy option for me and it’s worth every penny. Investing in my long term health is something I’m not willing to skimp on 👙💪🏻🔥

Dou you take creatine daily?

Anyone else ever get such a strong urge to just be in the sea 🌊 thankfully this time it’s not November as the water at Helens bay was soo clear tonight and actually quite warm too ☀️

After a sweaty AMRAP and an amazing client session this afternoon, there was only one place I wanted to be… in the sea so, off I went with Emily for a quick dip before dinner ❤️

Can not beat dunking your head in the sea and leaving with salty skin 🤩
