👩‍🔬Year 14 Scientists in Action!👨‍🔬

Our Year 14 students have been putting their practical science skills to the test, investigating how temperature affects the rate of an enzyme-catalysed reaction.

Using lipase and milk, they carefully planned and carried out an investigation, taking measurements, controlling variables and analysing their results to explore how temperature influences enzyme activity. 🌡️🥛

A great opportunity to develop the practical, analytical and evaluative skills needed for success in Applied Science and to see the science behind enzyme reactions in action! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬 Well done, Year 14! 👏🔬

This afternoon we were delighted to host our Celebration of Achievement event, recognising the hard work, commitment and success of our pupils across Priory Integrated College.

It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate achievements both inside and outside the classroom and to recognise the effort, progress and contribution our young people make to school life.

🧪Year 8 Science – A Fantastic Start!

Our Year 8 pupils have been getting stuck into practical science as they begin their exciting science journey with us!

From developing their measuring skills to carrying out their first Bunsen burner experiments, they’ve been learning how scientists work safely, accurately and confidently in the laboratory. There was plenty of curiosity, concentration and excitement as our newest scientists got hands-on with equipment and began building the practical skills they’ll use throughout their science career.
We’re looking forward to seeing where their scientific journey takes them!

A huge congratulations to Cohen who was selected to represent Northern Ireland in the Tri Nations Development Tournament in Newcastle, Co. Down.

Northern Ireland recorded an impressive 5–0 win against Estonia before earning a 2–2 draw with Finland.

Integration at Its Best 🙌

This week we had a visit from Tiarnan of NICIE and a group of 14 students from Sweden. They are in Northern Ireland to learn about our history and wanted to know about integrated education. They spent 2 hours with us in Priory hearing about the history of integrated education in Northern Ireland, talking to the year 12 LLW class to get the pupils perspective of being in an integrated school and getting a tour of the school. They were great ambassadors for their school polite, engaged and eager to learn. Our year 12 pupils were also brilliant they welcomed our visitors, spoke with enthusiasm about integrated education and about Priory College. So much so that both sets of pupils want to meet up again!

Our Po***ck Cup journey began this afternoon, with some new faces joining the squad alongside our regulars.
A strong and well-organised Ballyclare Secondary School side took advantage of an early lead, and despite a determined effort, our boys couldn't quite bridge the gap. There were plenty of positives on display, and lots to build on as we return to training and prepare for the next challenge.

Our Year 13 pupils swapped the classroom for the kitchen as part of their enrichment programme, putting their baking skills to the test and creating some fantastic traybakes along the way!
