🌟 FLYING START FEEDBACK 🌟
As a setting that offers weekly flying start sessions it is mandatory that we are observed and audited each term. This allows our nominated flying start teacher to spend mornings with us observing our practice and feeding back to ensure we are delivering the highest standards of care & education ☺️ we had our termly observation on Wednesday and today we received our report 🤍 We have had a huge push this term on outdoor learning as we understand the benefits and impact this has on our little ones 🪴🌳🌱 to receive such wonderful feedback has been amazing 🌟 A big Thankyou to the flying start team for all of your support 🤍🌟🤍

I really do have the nicest families 😊 being a nursery manager, whilst very rewarding, can be incredibly challenging at times, we work hard supporting everyone around us, the team, the children and the parents and we sometimes ask, who’s supporting us! Today I was gifted a beautiful orchid from one of my lovely families just to let me know they are grateful and they appreciate me 🤍 you have no idea how much that has meant today and you really have made a difference to my day 🤍🤍🤍 Thankyou Nicola Jane Garside ☺️

Today the children have had a wonderful morning in the garden, it really is our favourite place to play! We have enjoyed painting our own expression stones, making mud and basil soup in our mud kitchen, enjoying lots of water play and a farm tuff tray. The children also took safe risks with balancing and standing in chairs to see how high they could paint the walls 🎨 🧹 supervised, age appropriate challenges like climbing, balancing or using real tools is vital for children’s physical, cognitive and emotional development 🪴🌳🌱🍁

🌍GRUFFALO GRANNY 🥔🫜🫛🥕🧅🌽
Yesterday the children enjoyed sharing the story Gruffalo Granny, we then enjoyed chopping lots of different vegetables to make our very own Gruffalo stew 🥘 some of the children even enjoyed tasting all of the different vegetables and we talked about the different tastes, smells and colours. We also had vegetable print painting which was enjoyed by all alongside planting our own pumpkin seeds 🎃 allowing children to cut vegetables with child-safe tools builds key motor, cognitive, and social-emotional skills while encouraging healthier eating habits 😋

Today the toddlers and babies have had a lovely day playing in the garden, doing some Autumn painting and making and exploring sensory bags. Sensory bags are an incredible tool for boosting early childhood development! When children squish, squeeze, and track moving objects inside the pouch, they are actively strengthening the tiny muscles in their hands and improving hand-eye coordination. These interactive bags also serve as a wonderful opportunity for language expansion, encouraging children to build their vocabulary as they describe new textures and colours. Beyond physical and cognitive growth, they also provide a soothing experience that helps towards improving emotional self-regulation, helping them to feel calm, focused, and settled.

To run alongside our morning session the children had opportunities to explore our play dough tuff tray and could experiment with mixing different colours to create autumn crafts. 🌍 PLANET PROTECTORS 🌍🌳🪴🍃🌱 🐓 🐔

In today’s session of planet protectors the children had a wonderful morning learning all about chickens. We worked in pairs to go and observe the chickens and stroke them gently and then we had so much fun collecting and counting the fresh eggs ready to take home 🥚 handling chickens and collecting eggs builds early motor skills and helps to teach children where our food comes from, it also helps to foster empathy through supervised, hands on animal care 🐓

This afternoon our babies and toddlers have enjoyed a lovely trip to the park and had fun playing in the Autumn sunshine 🍂 ☀️ 😊 we are so lucky to have so many community opportunities so close to us 🌟 Regular park trips help our children grow healthy bodies, strong social skills and curious minds through free exploration 🌟
