If your child is aged 4 and starting full time education this autumn, eligible Service personnel can register for WAC or PSACO on JPA from 1st September.

Defence UK Nursery Authority (UKNA) scheme to launch from September.

If your child attends early years childcare in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you may be eligible for a reimbursement from Defence for your early years childcare costs from September 2026.

Service personnel can access detailed information on the UKNA in the relevant DIN and via the Defence Childcare Information Page defnet or Defence Connect.

Families can access information on the UKNA, including the eligibility criteria, at Childcare for Service children - GOV.UK. Information on how to register and claim UKNA will be available on Discover My Benefits in due course.

The month of April we have been celebrating the Month of the Military Child and last week we participated in Purple Up Day.
But why purple? Purple is the official colour representing military children, symbolising a blend of the colours from all service branches: Army green, Air Force and Navy blue, and Marine red.
