Well that’s a wrap! An amazing final 2 days at Kruger National Park where we were lucky enough to see the Big 5 with the help of our amazing safari guides! 🎉To watch a pride of lions settle down in front of us with no other vehicles around was incredible 🦁 Afrer a long journey home via Istanbul we said farewell to Mike, our World Challenge Leader on arrival at Manchester airport. A quick supermarket shop and trip to a local market before our final night in Eswatini 🇸🇿 spent at Hawane Lodge. Pupils shared the restaurant kitchen and were given a much needed lesson on how to chop onions! 🧅 We introduced the lovely ladies to a cup of Yorkshire Tea! A time to reflect on our time spent in Eswatini, such a beautiful country with such friendly people. On to Kruger National Park for some r&r!

A challenging 4 day trek along the Ngwempisi River & Ridge. Hard climbs and downhills but the amazing views were worth it! A night spent at Rock Lodge with the most amazing bathroom view ever- even if the shower was cold!🥶 A diet of Nutella and jam wraps, rice, pasta and lentils led to a very welcome KFC after our pickup!

3 days at Bethany NCP with the main aim to remove the old fence and replace with a new one. Mornings for the boys were spent working on the fence while the girls spent time with the children, singing songs and playing outside. We had an afternoon of basket weaving and ‘Monday’ took us on a walk above the NCP to the hill top to look over the valley. On our final evening we had a community meal and introduced Monday to marshmallows! 😍

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of HHS pupil Ursula and her sister and former pupil, Astrid who will both be competing this summer in the Commonwealth Games!
Ursula, at just 14, has been selected to represent team England, while Astrid, 17, will represent team Scotland!
Both sisters have shown outstanding commitment to the sport, making the journey three times a week to Stockport for 5am swim sessions before returning to school and college. Both girls swim for Stockport Metro Swimming Club, one of the most respected coaching and competitive swimming programmes in Great Britain.
Their hard work, determination and resilience has earned them this incredible opportunity and they are a true inspiration to our school community!
Please join us in wishing Astrid and Ursula the very best of luck as they compete on the international stage! We are all behind you! ❤️💙

A great day at the community initiative today, digging, making cement and moving soil. We also enjoyed seeing a real Homestead and the traditional clothing. We finished with a football game against Eswatini 🇸🇿’survivors’ team. HHS won 2-1 but the children were more than happy with their shirts donated by Mr Keyes!
