Aquatic Role-play Themes - The ART of Swimming Lessons.

🙌Huge shoutout to 3 of my fab students! for successfully passing their STA Level 3 Diploma in Aquatic Teaching - Baby and Pre-School this week.

Well done to Sam, Cat and Sophie!

They have worked really hard over the past 9 months (Cat 3months!!! speediest completer ever! no dilly dalling for Cat!). They have sat through 24hrs of online theory classrooms, attended catch up sessions, scrutinised their own practice through multiple lesson evaluations, reflections on videos of their own teachings. They have researched and reflected on case studies 4 different areas of baby and pre-school swimming! Put up with me pestering! Met friends! Connected the dots and hopefully gained so much more from the experience!

How amazing are they!

With World Cup fever in the air i have put together a little bank of activities that you can use in swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, non swimmers, beginners, improvers (around a dozen ideas and a couple of songs). Please feel free to be inspired to adapt, to use, to share. World up is 11th June to 19th July so plenty of time to plan in a fun lesson.

Supporting little swimmers on their journey to independence is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching — but it can also be one of the most challenging.

Whether you teach independently or as part of a larger swim school team, this inspiring one-day workshop offers a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow instructors, share ideas, and develop practical strategies that truly support young children in the water.

Throughout the day, we’ll explore not only the swim skills needed to transition babies and preschoolers towards independent swimming, but also how we can nurture confidence, emotional wellbeing, and positive learning experiences along the way.

The classroom time will be spent on the importance and progression of swim skills needed to transition to independent swimming. We will look at challenges we face and methods to over come them.
The pool time we will explore how we can apply and grow the knowledge discussed earlier in the day. Looking at equipment and some great ideas to take away.

A buffet style lunch, light refreshments and tea and coffee will be provided.

This is workshop will be registered with the STA and should you wish to receive official CPD points these will be available for an extra £10 (please request on the day)

Hey all!

I have a rare quiet couple of months coming up and wondered if anyone would like any training? I specialise in baby and preschool and games for learn to swim swimming lessons. I can offer training on all progressive practices, songs and rhymes, age appropriate games and activities.

I have some preprepared (STA endorsed) options available ranging from 1- 6hrs long, or i can design a bespoke workshop to suit your needs. These can be delivered.
