Do schools have problems communicating with pupils who have been excluded for disciplinary reasons or are experiencing ill health!
Quirky Virtual Classrooms
To provide a facility permitting schools to communicate more easily with excluded pupils.
This may involve friendly 1-1 conversations or sending relevant course material.
Have you ever considered how impacts on learning?
In Washington DC, a fourth grader logged into virtual classrooms but only if her teachers taught lessons in front of computer screens. The majority of students are not suffering from Covid. The authorities left it up to schools when they want to provide instruction synchronously or asynchronously.
Perhaps most experienced pedagogues would offer synchronous learning when first introducing a new topic followed by asynchronous which the pupil could complete at her/his leisure.
I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
Virtual Classrooms
As director of Quirky Virtual Classrooms, I am on a mission to help schools maintain contact with excluded pupils as they are legally required to do so after five days. I am a qualified mathematics teacher with extensive, varied experience including two years teaching mathematics to advanced level in Jamaica. From my own experience, teaching excluded pupils is fraught with problems. Where should it take place? this could be a community or the pupils own home. How motivated are the affected pupils?
