THROWBACK: Cornwallis Garden Party, August 2003

We’re heading back to summer 2003 for this Cornwallis Garden Party Reunion, hosted by Andrew Polson (Cornwallis, 1966) in Botley.

The photos might be a little grainy, but hopefully the memories aren’t!

Who do you recognise? Tag them in the comments and if you were there, we’d love to hear your memories from the day.

🎉 A huge congratulations to our incredible GCSE pupils! 🎉

Today, we’re celebrating not only an outstanding set of GCSE results, but everything our Year 11 pupils have achieved throughout their time at RHS. We couldn’t be prouder!

🌟 53% of all GCSE grades were awarded at 9–7 (equivalent to A*-A)
🌟 95% of all grades were awarded at 9-4

These results continue an exceptional record of academic excellence at RHS, with more than half of all GCSE grades awarded at 9–7 in each of the past three years.

Behind every result is an individual journey of hard work, determination and growth, supported by our dedicated staff, families and the wider RHS community. Thank you!

If you’re still considering your next steps for Sixth Form, RHS has a limited number of places available for September. Our Admissions and Sixth Form teams would be very happy to talk through your options and answer any questions you may have.

Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Will Penny (St Vincent, 2017) and Maloni Bulanuaca (St Vincent, 2018) recently crossed paths while serving in the Rifles Regiment. They found themselves reunited having not seen each other since school when Will led a Rifleman to LCpl promotion course (Fire Team Commanders Course). Maloni successfully completed the programme.

We love hearing stories of alumni crossing paths in their careers. Thank you, Will, for sending over the photo and congratulations to Maloni for passing the course!

After first hearing about the Stour Valley Path Ultra Marathon from fellow RHS alumni at the 2025 Remembrance Weekend, Josie Ruffles (Raleigh, 2020) decided it sounded like a challenge worth taking on!

The self-navigated trail race through the Suffolk countryside proved tough from the start, with hills, heat and even a few bonus kilometres after taking a wrong turn!

But what made the challenge particularly special was the support along the route. Josie was joined by a brilliant RHS contingent, with Toby Ruffles (Cornwallis, 2018), Ruby Parker (Raleigh, 2018), Isabella Butler (Anson, 2020), Katie Pugh (Raleigh, 2020), Olivia Holt (Anson, 2020), Nicholas Males (Cornwallis, 2020), Fred Kilham (Drake, 2020) and Libby Parker (Raleigh, 2019) all turning out to cheer her on.

Reflecting on the experience, she said, “Completing this ultra marathon highlighted to me just how resilient I am and that you can push your body further than you might think possible to achieve your goals. It also highlighted just how lucky I am to have such a supportive family and incredible friendship group.”

From a difficult first 11 miles to crossing the finish line around sunset, it was an incredible achievement and she is already hoping to take on another ultra marathon in 2027!

Last week we welcomed back Andrew Young (Drake, 1973), this time accompanied by his family while they were staying in the area to celebrate his birthday!

A trip down memory lane is always special, especially when the stories and memories you've shared with family come to life as you wander around the School and visit the places you've talked about over the years.

Thank you for visiting!
