..and that’s a wrap for this year! 2024 done ✅ Thank you for choosing us as for your childcare. It’s been a fun year! Looking forward to our 2025 adventures and some younger siblings starting with us 🥰

We’ve had a chilled December, we’ve enjoyed Christmas crafting and baking, festive playgroups and parties, soft play and zoo visits with close interaction with the Lionesses.

We’ve enjoyed growing our own pumpkins this year, and picking apples from the tree. We have enjoyed pumpkin sensory play and in our artwork this week we mixed red and yellow paint to make orange, using the wonky apples we created some wonderful pumpkin paintings! 🎃🍎🎨

Completed my Paediatric 12 hour first aid course yesterday. Something that has to be renewed every 3 years.

We covered many topics: What to do in an emergency situation, primary and secondary survey administering first aid and when to call 999/112. Practiced bandages, slings, cpr, AED defibrillator and auto-injector pens for anaphylaxis.

Walked in to find 2 of my childminder friends, Zuzi and Jade also booked into the same course! Lovely surprise. Definately made the day a bit more fun ❤️

A lovely fine motor skills activity. The boys enjoyed playing with the screwdriver board, using different hand grips and technique’s to tighten and loosen the screws using different tools. They were really engaged and focused throughout. 🪛⚙️

We were lucky to see the Otters being fed this week. We saw them swim around the pool and hunt for their food, they enjoyed eating crabs and muscles. The children were really excited watching them ❤️

I attended the Hertfordshire Conference today with Reach out Early Years. Four different Interactive workshops.
I chose clay and early sewing/ threading. Arrival coffee and lunch included. Guest speakers talking about creativity and enabling environments. Given me lots of ideas to bring home and try here with the children. A fun way to spend a rainy Friday ❤️ Even better when 2 of your childminder friends Lisa and Hayley were there too 🤗

🎃🎃Pumpkin update🎃🎃

We have lots of pumpkins that are growing and taking over the plot 😆 each time we go they are getting bigger! The children get excited finding the pumpkins growing under the big leaves. We will have to try and count them next time 🎃❤️🎃

We were inspected by Ofsted on 15th August; we were given a mixture of Good and Outstanding grades. The full report is available online.

We received lots of positive feed back:

‘Children are happy and settled in this calm and nurturing setting’

‘Children display exceptionally positive behaviour. The childminder skilfully acts as a
positive role model to the children and teaches them about tolerance. She proactively supports children to manage their feelings and understand how unwanted behaviour has an impact on others. This helps children to develop resilience and show extremely positive attitudes to learning. Children show a remarkably high level of respect for their peers and they play harmoniously together. They ensure that all children are involved in their play as they make pretend cakes in the garden. They make sure that all their friends have a plate so
they can share the cake, and use polite manners, such as 'please' and 'thank you'

‘The childminder provides the children with a rich set of learning experiences. She
supports children to develop a passion for nature and outdoor learning through a wide range of stimulating activities. For example, trips to zoos, parks and nature reserves help children to build on their understanding of the world around them.
They learn about growing and harvesting fruits and vegetables through visits to a nearby allotment. This fully supports children to build on the knowledge they need
to succeed in life.’

I would like to say thank you to all of our parents for taking the time to provide recent references, they were read on the day during snack time. Ofsted do value parents feedback.

It was a positive day and it was really lovely to recieve such positive feedback.
