🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ What a wonderful Sports Day! ☀️

Thank you to each and every pupil for the incredible effort you put in to make the day so special. It was fantastic to see such amazing team spirit throughout the day, with pupils cheering one another on and offering encouragement, even when the chips were down. 👏

🏆 A huge congratulations to the Blue Team, Bowes Lyon, who were our overall winners! 🎉 Well done to everyone for your enthusiasm, determination and outstanding sportsmanship—you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves 💙

A special thank you also goes to our wonderful staff, who worked tirelessly to orchestrate such a fantastic day in the heat. Your hard work and dedication ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Finally, a huge thank you to our amazing PSA for providing the much-appreciated ice lollies—they were the perfect way for everyone to cool down after a fun-filled morning! 😋

🚲 We're so excited to be taking part in this fantastic free cycle loan scheme! 🚲

Thanks to the programme, we now have a range of bikes available for families to borrow completely free of charge, helping more children and families enjoy the benefits of cycling together.

Whether you're looking to build your child's confidence, try cycling to school, or head out on family adventures over the summer, we've got you covered! Each bike loan includes a helmet, lock and lights, and bikes can be borrowed for 1–3 weeks or even for the whole summer holidays (subject to availability).

Residential 2026! What an incredible residential adventure our pupils have enjoyed!

From exploring the beach and searching for crabs along the shoreline 🦀, to taking part in blindfolded team activities that developed trust, communication and teamwork, every day brought exciting new experiences. The children also learned valuable life skills, including how to safely light and manage a fire 🔥, demonstrating responsibility and resilience throughout.

There were plenty of opportunities for adventure too, with pupils bravely climbing to new heights and testing their balance on challenging activities. It was wonderful to see so many children stepping outside their comfort zones, encouraging one another and celebrating each other's achievements.

A huge thank you to our fantastic staff who made the trip such a success, and to all our parents and carers for your support, encouragement and trust. We couldn't provide these amazing opportunities without your partnership.

We return home tired, happy, and incredibly proud of everything our pupils have accomplished. What a wonderful residential it has been! 😊

We are so proud of our mini marathoners!!! On Saturday, 25 pupils from Reception to Year 6 represented Preston Primary School at the TCS London Mini London Marathon, taking part in the 1-mile/2.6km race along the iconic route from Horse Guards Parade, past Buckingham Palace, and finishing on The Mall.

Every pupil completed the course, with some achieving impressive times. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our runners for their determination, effort, and enthusiasm.

We are also extremely grateful for the fantastic fundraising efforts. Funds raised directly through the marathon will be used to enhance our sports equipment, while the additional funds raised by pupils (which have been amazing!) will go towards our new playground equipment.

Each child received a medal for their achievement, and we look forward to celebrating all of our runners in Friday’s celebration assembly which all are welcome to attend. Thank you to our pupils, families and amazing Preston School Association for their support in making the day such a success.
