Learning took off yesterday! ✈️😉

Yesterday, one group of our students visited , exploring historic aircraft, vehicles and engineering, while our Outreach group travelled to Duxford Air Museum to learn about the people, innovation and history behind some of the world’s most iconic aircraft.

Reading information displays, observing exhibits, listening to audio guides and asking questions helped students develop their understanding of history, technology and innovation in a meaningful real-world context.

Experiences like these bring learning to life and foster curiosity They also provide valuable opportunities to make connections between classroom learning and the wider world, while building and strengthening relationships along the way.

Another week of learning, laughter and new experiences.

Swipe through to see two snapshots from each day of a week filled with creativity, resilience and hands-on learning.

• Monday saw creativity flowing through lunchtime drawing, alongside practical cookery sessions where students made a delicious mac and cheese.

• Tuesday brought focused GCSE Art work and outdoor PE sessions in the park, making the most of the fresh air and open space.

• On Wednesday, students enjoyed strawberry picking, with their freshly picked fruit making a delicious addition to lunchtime. In English, students continued developing their communication skills through telling and describing sentences.

• Thursday’s Life Skills lessons focused on measuring ingredients to make salt dough, before students put their creativity to the test in a student-led dragon-building competition. Car maintenance sessions also provided valuable practical skills for life beyond school.

• Friday included GCSE English exams, where students demonstrated resilience and determination, followed by a walk to Emily’s Tearoom to round off the week.

This week’s photos capture just some of the hard work, creativity and real-world learning that takes place across our school each day. 💚

This last half term has been filled with the kind of moments that stay with you long after the week has ended. Looking back through these photos, we don’t just see activities, we see our 5 Cs woven through every experience, every conversation and every small step forward.

The quiet trust built beside a horse
The encouragement up a steep hill.
That’s connection.

Conversations about futures, goals and possibilities.
Hands in the soil, working side by side.
That’s communication.

Stopping to notice the ducklings along the way.
Questions sparked around a world map.
That’s curiosity.

The student who finally says, “I’ll give it a go.”
The pride that comes from growing skills week by week.
That’s confidence.

Food around the fire after a charity night hike.
Laughter on the water at the end of the week.
That’s celebration.

These photos capture teamwork, resilience, laughter and courage. From preparing for GCSEs and speaking with future employers, to fundraising, leading activities and making the most of sunny afternoons on the water, this half term has been full of quiet achievements and proud milestones.

Some progress arrives loudly, but often it’s found in the smaller moments… joining in when something feels unfamiliar, encouraging a friend, speaking with confidence, taking pride in your work or simply giving something a try.

We are endlessly proud of our students, not just for what they achieve, but for who they are becoming along the way 💛

At EHS we see creativity every day in the hands-on moments that help students grow in confidence, connection and pride. It’s not just something that happens in lessons. It shows up in quieter moments too, in conversations, shared activities and everyday school life. And while it might begin in subjects like Art or English, it’s something we weave through everything we do.

Swipe through to see some of those moments from the last couple of weeks including:

🐞 building a bug hotel to support nature and wildlife
🔢 an outdoor maths scavenger hunt bringing learning to life
🌟 a student-led special effects makeup lesson
🌍 exploring a map of the world in a whole new way
🎨 painting Warhammer figures with patience, focus and creativity
🌸 planting flowers and helping make our outdoor space calm and welcoming

All of these moments give ourstudents the opportunity to discover what they’re capable of and experience success that feels real, personal and meaningful to them.

A week in motion.

Last week saw focused exam prep, creative sparks in art, hands-on cookery and fresh-air adventures — something to celebrate in every day.

Not every win is loud, but they all count. This is what progress looks like at EHS.

Sun was out, and so were we! 🌞

We’ve wasted no time this term — straight into outdoor PE, fresh air lunchtime games, early morning walks and Duke of Edinburgh map reading practise.

From starting the Warrior course to paddleboarding adventures, we wrapped up the week with a sponsored hike and an overnight camp raising money for

Energy high. Spirits higher. What a start.

These aren’t just our favourite photos from the last half term … if you really look, you’ll see the moments behind them.

Calm, connection, and little wins. Gentle curiosity, teamwork, and belonging. Students building courage, learning through laughter and discovering they’re never alone. Moments of trust, shared joy, celebrating effort and showing up even when it’s not easy.

This is what life at our school feels like, day by day 💛

Yesterday was the perfect mix of teamwork, adrenaline and laughter (mainly at the amount of layers Laura, our Head, was wearing for protection!).

Our end-of-term paintball trip was such a highlight! From the big thinkers planning the moves to the brave ones leading the charge, every student showed fantastic teamwork and growing confidence.

Moments like these go beyond the classroom - building self-belief, friendships and memories that stick.

Here’s to finishing the term strong and celebrating the individual progress each student has made in their own way. We’re always so proud of them.
