Some fantastic athletics results to share from Sarena and Haysan at the Herts County Championships. Despite very challenging conditions with heavy rain and strong winds all day, Sarena won the Years 10 & 11 Girls 3000m and took home the Gold medal, while Haysan earned Silver in the Years 8 & 9 Girls 1500m! Huge well done to them both on their brilliant performances and for showing such resilience.

On National Thank A Teacher Day, we would like to recognise all the effort, commitment and care shown by our teachers daily to provide exceptional experiences for our students. If there's a member of staff that you'd like to thank by emailing [email protected], such messages are always uplifting and really appreciated!

It's always great fun when our Sports Leaders welcome local primary pupils for the Sports Festival they put on as part of their course. The sun came out for long enough yesterday for our Year 3 and Year 4 visitors from Whitehill to try out all the activities our Sports Leaders had designed and prepared. Congratulations on such a well run and well received festival!

πŸ’™πŸ’› Calling all members of the HGS family past, present and future πŸ’™πŸ’›

We need your help in raising much-needed funds for our school - are you able to chip in, to help secure better facilities, richer experiences and stronger skills for the future - for all of our students?

We are embarking on a bid to upgrade our historic Main Hall and its audiovisual equipment, which over the years have seen us through so many memorable performances and beloved traditions.

Our Main Hall is much more than a performance space as well. It’s at the heart of so much we do on a daily basis. From assemblies to guest speaker talks and student-led presentations, it's where our students expand their learning, come together as a community and find their voices.

But the hall’s audiovisual infrastructure - sound, lighting, visual and filming equipment - is ageing and in desperate need of an upgrade. It doesn't provide the quality of experience that our students and audiences deserve. It's also struggling to adequately prepare our young women with the digital, creative and communication skills they need to participate and thrive in the modern professional world.

The equipment is expensive, and rising costs and diminishing state school funding make the upgrade even more challenging. We need to raise Β£70,000 - so your help will make all the difference in whether we can make this happen.

If you have ever enjoyed an event or an experience in our Main Hall, as a performer or an audience member - this is a chance to give something back. Your donations will translate directly to equipment that students can start using straight away.

You can find out all about our project and how you can make an impact at

Or DONATE NOW at https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/30588 #!/DonationDetails

If you can add Gift Aid (at no extra cost to you) or your employer offers match-funding for charitable donations, that would be even more fantastic!

Any contribution you can make will take us a step closer to our goal. Thank you for any support you can give!
