Exciting opportunity to experience raku firing. You can make your raku pieces on 12th September 10-12am in the studio. Then come back for the raku firing on 27th September when you can glaze your pottery and be involved with its firing. There is nothing quite like the experience of outdoor raku firing, and you can achieve some spectacular glaze effects. We also have Open studio on 27th September. Booking link in the comments.

This 90 year old gentleman did fantastically in the studio today. It was his first time ever on the wheel. Note the height of the pot!!! Grand job!.

Here is my recent ceramic commission with a really poignant story. It was commissioned by a grandmother to her much loved grandaughter shortly before she died. It depicts them as two playful waves. The larger grandmother wave nurturing the smaller grandaughter wave as well as playing it reflects the care and love between them. It captures a moment in time when the waves connect before pulling away again. I loved creating the work, the creative process took on its own momentum. It was a delight. Carole Sender Xx
