Meet
On paper, he’s exactly what most people would consider strong. More than 20 years under the bar. Built a powerful underlying frame. In his line of work - it’s useful to look like you might be a ‘handful.’
But strength can sometimes hide dysfunction.
Repeated calf injuries. Movement restrictions. Compensations that had become normal. Years of training focused on producing force, with little attention paid to how efficiently that force was being transferred through the body.
The reality is that many traditional strength programmes do an excellent job of making people stronger. They don’t always do a great job of making them more robust.
When we carried out a detailed biomechanical assessment, the picture became much clearer. Significant muscular imbalances. Limitations in mobility. Stability deficits. Movement strategies that had developed over years and were quietly increasing injury risk.
None of this is unusual.
It’s what happens when life, work, fatherhood and decades of training all leave their mark.
This project isn’t about chasing bigger numbers on a barbell.
It’s about rebuilding the foundations.
Creating better movement. Better stability. Better joint function. Better tissue resilience.
Most importantly, it’s about preparing him for a physically demanding course ahead whilst addressing the underlying issues that could otherwise limit performance.
Strong is good.
Strong, resilient and capable is better.
Over the coming months we’ll be documenting the process, the assessment findings, the interventions and the results.
This is what optimisation looks like when you stop guessing and start addressing the root cause.

THE SPEED PROJECT // ATHLETE 01
Off-season testing is complete.
The standard was high. Very high.
Now the focus shifts from fitness to performance.
Over the coming months, Gregor will follow a hybrid performance programme designed to develop repeat speed, game endurance, and the ability to keep producing decisive moments long after others begin to fade.
Different running protocols. Different demands. One objective.
To become one of the most dangerous running fullbacks in the league during the 2026/27 season.
He’s fully committed to the process.
September is coming.
And with the quality developing across Hitchin’s back three, opposition defences may have a long afternoon ahead of them.
The Speed Project has begun.

🔍 Same athlete. Same drill. Different result.
The difference starts with the very first movement.
✅ Clip 1: Aggressive hip extension
❌ Clip 2: Rising through the toes
Why does this matter?
🚀 Powerful hip extension creates momentum before the feet even hit the floor.
That explosive drive from the hips:
⚡ Produces force faster
⚡ Projects the body forward
⚡ Sets up a more powerful take-off
⚡ Leads to greater jump distance
In the second clip, the athlete gets upright, but doesn’t create the same explosive impulse from the hips.
💡 The hips are the engine.
When the hips fire aggressively, everything that follows becomes more powerful and efficient.
🎯 Better projection.
🎯 Better force transfer.
🎯 Better jump performance.
The difference in the final jumps is often determined by the quality of the movement that comes before them.

⚡ RAPID! ⚡️
Speed wins matches. 🏉 ⚽️
The ability to repeat it wins trophies. 🏆
As matches wear on, the difference between athletes becomes obvious. Some players slow down, recover poorly between efforts and begin reacting to the game.
Others continue to accelerate, recover quickly and influence key moments right to the final whistle.
That’s what RAPID! is designed to develop.
⚡ RAPID stands for:
🔹 R – Repeatability: Perform high-quality speed again and again
🔹 A – Aerobic Power: Build the engine that supports sustained performance
🔹 P – Power: Develop the rate of force development that impacts key moments
🔹 I – Intensity: Maintain high outputs throughout training and competition
🔹 D – Durability: Stay resilient and effective as fatigue sets in
This isn’t a running club.
This isn’t a jogger’s nondescript aerobic training
This is a 10-week field sport performance programme focused on helping athletes:
⚡ Produce more high-speed efforts
⚡ Recover faster between phases of play
⚡ Maintain intensity deeper into games
⚡ Improve aerobic power and repeat sprint ability
⚡ Arrive at pre-season in a position to perform, not just survive
Whether you play rugby, football, hockey, lacrosse or any field-based sport, your ability to repeatedly produce quality efforts under fatigue is often what separates impact players from everyone else.
The athletes who commit to this process consistently report the same things:
✔️ Feeling significantly stronger late in games
✔️ Recovering quicker between efforts
✔️ Maintaining work rate under pressure
✔️ Producing higher quality actions when others begin to fade
RAPID is built to help you become faster, more resilient and more repeatable when it matters most.

Trying to wake the system back up. ⏰ 🚨
We’re rebuilding neurological control and recruitment through the shoulders - rotator cuff, rear delts, side delts, front delts - teaching the body how to find those muscles again instead of just forcing movement.
And it’s already starting to click.
Better activation. Better control. Better awareness.
But we’re nowhere near finished yet.
Mission now:
build shoulders that actually function properly again - stable, responsive, strong, connected.
Then further down the chain:
better proprioception, better pelvic control, better movement everywhere.
Not just training muscles.
Rebuilding communication between the brain and the body.

No second or minute wasted. 💥
Matt - Second Row for Hitchin Rugby Club and local digital entrepreneur - (fresh from 🏆 victory) put in a serious shift this morning. Big, powerful athlete with a great engine and an exceptional attitude towards learning and improving.
At this stage - between key exercises we’re focusing on recovery, activating key ankle stabilisers, and correcting lower limb and pelvic movement patterns to create stronger long-term foundations.
Rather than rushing into heavy strength phases, we’re building stability, control and better movement quality first - making sure performance develops properly and sustainably.
Worked exceptionally hard today. Brilliant mindset and effort throughout. 👏🔥
