🤩 Our Netball Club players 2025-26 🤩

We have had an amazing year with our Year 4, 5 & 6 children who have trained every Tuesday after school learning the rules of Netball and playing in matches and rallies during the Spring Term.

Our last session was on Tuesday 8th July when they played matches against each other and families were invited to watch to see how their skills & knowledge had developed.

At the end we held End of Season Awards when the children were presented with the Mary Exton School colours medals for representing our school by Mrs Paterson.

To finish three special awards were presented to Coaches Player, Most Improved Player & Players Player which were awarded to Chloe, Harlow & Verity.

Mrs Castle our Netball Club coach expressed how very proud she was of them all and how they have been amazing representing our HEART values.

Congratulations to everyone and we look forward to starting again in September 2026.

Rehearsals are well and truly under way for the Year 6 production, Gigglebox. We're looking forward to performing for the school at our dress rehearsal on Monday 13th July and can't wait for our families to see the show on Wednesday 15th July.

As part of our Art and Design unit, 3D Sculpture: Making Memories, Year 6 designed and made these incredible totem poles. We used recycled materials and Modroc to create our sculptures before decorating them with paint.

Year 2 have been keeping cool this afternoon during this heatwave!

Year 5 have been comparing the life cycles of mammals, insects and amphibians whilst exploring lifespans and gestation periods. A visit to the pond in the sunshine was a perfect end to the lesson as the children spotted large tadpoles and tiny froglets as well as other pond life.

We were delighted to invite local author and illustrator Chloe Savage into our school today. She inspired the children to follow their dreams and never give up. She shared her books with the children and they got a chance to be creative and design their own jellyfish. Thanks to Chloe for a wonderful morning!

Year 5 and Year 6 showed great teamwork and creativity when designing playground obstacle courses in PE. They then thoroughly enjoyed trying out each team's ideas.

In Reception and Year one we have been learning about stable structures in DT. Thinking about how the bottom of the structure support the stability and how it can help if the bottom is also weighted. The children developed this learning further in play and learn time, creating structure collaboratively and explaining how their structure is stable and even how tall they were.
