👏 Many Congratulations to our August Care Worker of the Month Award Winner – David Keene.

David was nominated by Adrienne Pope, Director of ALP Care & Support South Wales & West.

Please find Adrienne’s nomination story below:

"We would love to nominate David Keene for Care worker of the Month in recognition of his outstanding work supporting people with mental health, substance misuse & emotional difficulties across Cardiff and the surrounding areas.

David consistently goes above and beyond in his role.

He shows genuine compassion, patience, and respect to every individual he supports, often helping people through extremely difficult situations with kindness and understanding. His calm and professional attitude makes a real difference to both residents and colleagues alike.

David approaches every day with dedication and positivity.

He is dependable, hardworking, and always willing to help whenever needed. Many people feel safer, supported, and more hopeful because of the care and encouragement he provides.

At 67 there is no stopping David, his committed attitude is quite outstanding. He has never once cancelled an assignment and will literally get up and go to help at the drop of a hat, or ‘Tifter’ as he would call it as he is a true Londoner.

David’s commitment to supporting vulnerable people in Cardiff and the surrounding areas makes him truly deserving of this recognition."

David, you are truly inspirational. Many congratulations from all of us at SCTV and thank you for the incredible work you do! 🩵

You need to be able to demonstrate it. 📋✅

When CQC assesses your service, can you quickly evidence:

✔️ Mandatory training completion
✔️ Up-to-date refresher training
✔️ New starter induction
✔️ Training gaps and overdue courses
✔️ Staff progress and compliance
✔️ Evidence of ongoing learning and development

💜 Social Care TV helps you to achieve this with ease.

Our online training and LMS give managers a clear, centralised view of staff training — helping you track, manage and evidence learning in one place.

Dementia care is not simply about managing symptoms. It’s about seeing the person behind the diagnosis and supporting dignity, independence, purpose and quality of life. 💜

🏡 With dementia continuing to be one of the UK’s most significant health and social care challenges, skilled, compassionate and informed care has never been more important.

🧩 Dementia is an umbrella term covering a range of conditions affecting memory, thinking, communication and everyday life. From Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia to Lewy body dementia and frontotemporal dementia, each can present differently and requires an individualised approach.

❤️ Great dementia care starts with understanding the individual — not just the diagnosis.

💊 Medicine administration is one of the most important responsibilities carried out by care staff — and one of the highest-risk areas of care.

A single missed signature, incorrectly stored medicine or misunderstood instruction can have serious consequences for the person receiving support. ⚠️

That’s why regular medicine administration training shouldn’t be viewed as a one-off requirement during induction.

🔄 Ongoing training, reflection and review help care teams:
✅ Stay confident and competent
✅ Maintain consistent standards
✅ Adapt to changing guidance
✅ Support safe, effective and well-governed care
✅ Meet CQC expectations

Keep your team’s knowledge up to date and help make medication safety a priority. 💙
