Whether you’re a complete beginner or wish to go a step further with your Singing training, ASA can offer you one-to-one vocal tuition which will really make the difference to your singing voice. Working in a fun and friendly environment, Alana specialises in coaching established professional performers, yet aims to inspire and develop new singers or those wishing to take up singing as a hobby. Your coach will train all aspects of the voice including breath technique and control, range development, pitch correction, articulation, repertoire choices, interpretation of text, confidence building and most of all ensuring a consistent vocal tone throughout the whole range. If you would like an extra challenge, your talents can be showcased in one of the many exciting performance opportunities provided by The Alana Shirley Academy, which may include concerts, production shows, festivals, talent shows and masterclasses.

Singing & Musical Theatre have been Alana's passion since she was a little girl. Whilst she always loved to perform, Alana was extremely academic and excelled at school. She was accepted into University of Leicester to study Law, but got cold feet before the course started, and felt the need to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time professional singer. Alana trained professionally at the prestigious Bird College in Sidcup. She attained a first class honours degree in Singing Performance & Education, after completing an FdA in Creative Industries: Acting. During her training, she won the BBC Fame Academy Musical Theatre Award, presented by conductor to Shirley Bassey - Stuart Barr, and head of the Royal Academy of Music - Mary Hammond. Upon graduation, Alana further trained all aspects of the voice including Classical, Opera, Oratorio, Musical Theatre and Popular Music with the Advanced Performers Studio in London. Alana's credentials include a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance (London College of Music), as well as attending courses 'Estill for Singing Teachers', 'Estill Level 1 & 2 - Compulsory Figures & Voice Qualities' (both The Voice Explained), and 'Advanced Estill', attended in Helsinki, Finland.
Combining her love for singing with her love for travel, Alana's voice has enabled her to visit six of the seven continents – Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and even (her proudest passport stamp) Antarctica! Alana has worked extensively within the UK and abroad – performing, coaching and leading workshops, and continues to be very present in the industry today.

In 2009, Alana performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra as part of the BBC Proms series, broadcast live on BBC2, from London's Royal Albert Hall. She was honored to share the stage with Dame Judi Dench, Bryn Terfel, Maria Freidman and Julian Ovenden as part of a special celebratory concert marking the 80th birthday of composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim.
Alana has headlined for P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises, as well as 'in resort' in Spain & Cyprus for Thomson Gold. In 2012, she appeared as a guest on the TV show Cruising with the Stars on the Sky Holiday Channel.
As one third of vintage vocal groups 'The Hollywood Starlets', 'The D-Day Darlings', and 'The Bombshell Belles', Alana regularly performs, touring the UK and abroad. In addition, she is an original member of 'Undercover Artists', providing exclusive entertainment to weddings, corporate events and high class functions throughout the UK. Recently, she has performed for the the England Cricket Team's annual award's ceremony, the Rolex Masters Tennis Championship, The Sovereign Prince Albert of Monaco, Wentworth Golf Club & Stephen Sondheim.
Alana is credited on the Nintendo Wii U game 'SiNG PARTY' (FreeStyle Games/Activision), where her voice was used to generate the game's intricate scoring system; a process which took over 18 months. Other studio work includes Ministry of Sound dance track 'Till We Meet Again' (Rekelectrik feat. Alana), which received Radio 1 airplay from DJ Pete Tong and charted at number one in his Essential Selection Chart. The song featured on albums 'Housexy' and 'Digital Angel'. Alana's vocals can also be heard on the ASA Christmas album'Voices for Christmas, available for download on iTunes, Amazon Music & Google Play stores.
Alana Shirley is a fully licensed & insured 'Child in Entertainment' chaperone & holds a current DBS (criminal background check) certificate. She is a member of Equity and holds 'Basic First Aid at Work' qualification. Shows and concerts are uniquely produced with EVERY student having the opportunity to sing a solo.
