We absolutely adored hosting our Wild Gatherings Summer Solstice event here at Base Camp, and we are so excited for our upcoming Autumn Equinox Retreat 🍂✨

This one is for the grown-ups.

A beautiful day to slow down, reconnect and honour the changing of the seasons as we move from the warmth of summer towards the stillness of winter.

Enjoy gentle fire meditations, wholesome food made with foraged delights, herbal wisdom and creation, mindful crafting, and a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect and embrace this special time of balance.

Walking through the gates of Base Camp and down the path towards the cabin area draws you into a little bubble of serenity - a space for nature connection, creativity, exploration and simply being.

Huge thank you to Gareth Isaac for joining us this week! 🌿

He delivered a truly interesting and thought-provoking session to my Oaks group, giving learners the opportunity to explore, discuss and engage in conversations about our thoughts and minds.

Together, they explored the idea that we all have thoughts, and that mindfulness isn’t about clearing our minds. Instead, it’s about learning to acknowledge our thoughts, recognise which ones are helpful and which aren’t, and understand that we have the power to get to know our own minds better and that this can be a super useful tool in navigating life!

Wowee! What a wonderful end to Term 1 at Base Camp Education for my incredible tutees!

Forever grateful for the opportunity to facilitate learning and wellbeing from my little garden classroom ✨️

I'm fully booked for term 2 minus a couple of spaces in my wonderful Tuesday group.

You can read more about what they get up to at www.basecampeducation.co.uk and you are very welcome to book in for a tour and a trial.

The curriculum I create is tailored and bespoke to each individual and group. However, I’m hoping to keep this particular group as an opportunity for my older learners, aged 8 and above 🙏✨️

✨🌿 Little Wildlings Day Retreat is back! 🌿✨

Afrer such a beautiful day for our first event, we've planned another one! Children can enjoy a magical few hours of nature, creativity and wellbeing... and we can't wait to welcome your little wildlings! 💚

Open to all children, this unique day retreat brings together outdoor adventure, mindfulness and joyful creativity here at Base Camp.

🍃 Your child can enjoy a variety of workshops from different practitioners:

🔥 Forest School & Campfire: Create nature-inspired crafts, gather around the campfire, cook and press apple juice

🧘‍♀️ Yoga & Movement: A gentle yoga adventure with movement and games

🍫 Build and Discover lego workshop: explore the wonderful world of lego

Plus chicken cuddles, tree climbing, craft table and outdoor adventure! 🐓

Hello ☀️ we are entering the last week of Term 1 for my wonderful tutor groups!

If you are in this wonderful community and thinking about signing your child up, I have space in my Oaks group that runs from 10:30 - 13:30 on Tuesdays. This group is for learners 8years plus.

Emily also have space in her Herbal Explorers class that runs afterwards from 13:45 - 14:45

What a day!!!

Our first Little Wildlings Day retreat was just beautiful! ✨️☀️

Children enjoyed a yoga and sound bath from the lovely Chloe | Yoga Teacher + Sound Healer, followed by forest school crafts with me and then an insight into the world of cacoa from the wonderful Ashley from Adala_uk 🌿 and of course lots of games, animal cuddles, music and tree climbing!

Roll on the next one!

Huge thank you to Emily from Sulis Botanica - Emily Medical Herbalist, Aromatherapist for her wonderful Herbal Explorer sessions here at Base Camp Education ✨️

The cabin always smells divine after these sessions and I always get left a little sample of the wonderful creations! ✨️ thank you!

Also... next time you look at the stem of a lavender or mint plant, notice the shape! 🟩

Her classes run:
Tuesday 1.45pm to 2.45pm for 8 years plus
Wednesday 2.20pm to 3.20pm for 5 to 8 year olds

Wishing there were classes for the grown-ups? 🙌 Our Wild Gatherings are basically whole days of Herbal Explorers for adults! With one on September 20th and a Winter Solstice event on the 13th of December.

Also who's up for starting a petition to get a weekly Herbal Explorers class for adults?! 📝🙋‍♀️

🌿📖 Wowee, another week done, and some incredible moments and memories made!

What a dream to see those lightbulb moments, teamwork and problem-solving… and to teach about waterfalls with a slide rather than from a worksheet! 🌊🙌

Roll on the final week of Term 1 next week, then we have a short break to celebrate a resident Base Camper’s birthday 🎂 before heading off to the legendary Camp Kindred home ed festival! 🙌

But for now… roll on Friday for our sold out Little Wildlings Day Retreat! 🌿

And then Monday brings my monthly Fire Circle, an evening around the fire for the grown-ups to unwind, reconnect and simply be 🔥✨
