This week we have continued our summer holiday fun with lots of exciting activities! ☀️🍦

The children designed their own colourful ice creams using paint pens, exploring different colours and patterns while developing their fine motor skills and creativity.

Our older children also enjoyed a number-matching activity, pairing the numbered ice cream cones with the correct number of sprinkles. They used their mathematical skills, showed great determination, and demonstrated a fantastic can-do attitude and resilience throughout the activity.

It has been wonderful to see everyone learning through play while having lots of summer fun! 🌈😊

This week we’ve been out and about exploring what summer looks like to us. ☀️🌸

We’ve been talking about the beautiful flowers we can see and creating our own colourful flower pictures. We also can’t wait to see how our sunflowers are growing after planting them in Beth’s garden a few weeks ago! 🌻

Our outdoor play has been full of imagination too, with lots of delicious “ice creams” made from sand, and of course we’ve been singing “The Sun Has Got His Hat On” while enjoying the lovely weather. 🍦🏖️🎶

Learning through play, exploring nature, and making happy summer memories together. 💛

I am so proud to finally share my Ofsted inspection grading as a childminder! 🎉

Having been involved in several inspections over the years as part of different teams, this one feels especially meaningful because it was solely down to me. Every decision, every bit of preparation, and every aspect of the provision reflected my own hard work, passion, and commitment.

Running my own setting has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding, and I am delighted that all of the time, effort, and dedication I have put in has been recognised. I strive every day to create a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment where children can thrive, learn, and be themselves.

I couldn’t be prouder of what I have achieved and am so grateful to the wonderful children and families who place their trust in me. Here’s to continuing to grow, learn, and provide the very best care and experiences for the little ones in my setting. 💛

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way! Now it’s time to take some well and truly needed time off to celebrate with family and enjoy my holiday with my girls.

Something that we take very seriously at Beth’s ! We only eat and drink sitting🍌🍊🍓

It’s National Picnic Week and what a perfect excuse to take your lunch outside.

In all the excitement, children may want to explore but it’s important to encourage them to sit down when eating to reduce the risk of choking.

Plus, don’t forget choking is silent, so be sure to watch them whilst they’re eating so you can react quickly if they get into trouble.

This week we have been exploring jungle animals! 🦁🐘🐒🌿

The children have enjoyed making lots of wonderful jungle-themed creations and taking part in imaginative role play as different animals. We have been discussing what jungle animals eat, how they move, and the sounds they make, encouraging lots of curiosity and conversation.

Through these activities, the children have been developing their communication and language skills by learning new vocabulary and sharing their ideas. They have also been strengthening their physical development through movement and animal actions, as well as expressing their creativity through arts and crafts. Our discussions about different animals and their habitats have supported their understanding of the world and encouraged an interest in nature and living things.

The children have really engaged with this topic and shown great enthusiasm, confidence, and imagination throughout the week.

This is the second week of our “Spotting the Farm” interest, and we’ve had such a busy and fun-filled week! 🌱🐷🐮

We’ve been collecting signs of spring at the park, making colourful collages from our findings, reading Jack and the Beanstalk, and planting our very own magic beans to see what happens next! 🌿✨

The children also enjoyed crafting their own pigs and cows, spending lots of time playing outside, and making the most of the dry weather. ☀️

Today we’ve been making the most of the outdoors and exploring early mathematical language through water play 💧

The children have loved experimenting with pouring, using words like full and empty as they filled containers and watched the water travel down pipes into buckets. They explored different tools and even began to catch the water before it ended up in the bucket.

Lots of curiosity, problem-solving, and laughter – they’ve had an absolute ball! 😊

Today is National Tea Day and the perfect excuse to grab a hot cuppa, as if we needed one. But did you know that 30 babies and toddlers go to hospital every day with a hot drink burn?

Hot drinks can easily be knocked over or grabbed by little fingers, and a cup of tea takes 15 minutes to cool down to a temperature that will not scald a young child.

So please be mindful of where you place hot drinks. Children can often reach further than we think.
