Our New Mud Kitchen has been a big hit outdoors.

The mud kitchen provides children with opportunities to explore, imagine and recreate familiar experiences from home.

Using real-life pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment encourages children to become curious, independent learners. 🍳☕️🥣

Children can cook, mix, pour, serve and create together using early maths concepts and natural material whilst enjoying the freedom of outdoor play. 🌲🌳

It promotes talking, listening, sharing and taking turns. Whilst encouraging imaginative play and use of their physical skills 💪🏻💪🏻

A simple outdoor space where children can create big ideas through play. 🧒🏻👧🏻

🚀 Exploring Space! 🪐

Based on our children’s interests, we have been exploring all things space!

Through space-themed play, stories, creative activities and imaginative experiences, the children have been discovering planets, rockets, astronauts, stars and the moon.

Introducing exciting new vocabulary such as planet, astronaut, rocket, moon, stars and space, while encouraging children to talk about their ideas and discoveries. Developing curiosity about the world beyond us and beginning to explore simple ideas about planets, space, day and night. ☀️🌙

By following the children’s interests, we are creating meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, imagination, exploration and a love of learning. 🌍🪐

At the beginning of May we started this years allotment!! The children planted beans, tomatoes, corn and strawberries🫛🍅🌽🍓

10 weeks on, we think you’ll agree that with the daily watering and lots of sun they are all looking fantastic!! 🌞🌞

Lots of strawberries have been picked and eaten and we have had beans for dinner too.
Now we are patiently waiting for the corn to grow and the tomatoes to ripen 🌽🌽🍅🍅🍅

Congratulations to Sam who has completed a Level 2 training course in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace.

Training around mental health, recognising when someone may be struggling and understanding how to support them appropriately is so important. It gives understanding, confidence and practical ways to support others. 💚

Well Done Sam 🥰

The babies and toddlers have been playing with water which we then turned into foam and bubbles. 🫧🫧🫧🫧

They enjoyed splashing and using pots and pans so they could transport and pour the water. 💦💦

We added some colours so we could see what colours they were able to recognise and they then chose to add animals too 🦒🦓

Easter activities have given us opportunities to count and use numbers in our play.

We have made chicks out of play-dough, painted using different equipment and read stories about Easter and Spring too 🐣🐰
