didi rugby mini:
18 months - 36 months
We aim to work on the basic underlying components of fitness in balance, co-ordination, strength and speed using play and rugby as our tools to deliver these skills. In addition to this, the children are also learning "Early Learning Goals" such as their colours and identifying different body parts that they exercise when playing sport. In essence Didi Rug
by provides a fun, safe learning environment where your child will be encouraged to move and play. Your child will take part in an active fun filled session, which encourages positivity, motivation and social skills alongside the fundamentals of sport and the basics fundamentals of games using the tool of rugby. We encourage active participation from parents, whether it be encouraging them from the side or getting involved themselves! Irrespective of what part sport plays in your child’s future, we honestly believe the capacity to participate in controlled play, to concentrate on instructions and visually assess a game will hold them in good stead for the future. didi rugby junior/senior
3-6 years old
There’s no need to leave at 3! Didi rugby junior aims to fill the gap between toddler play and mini rugby training starting at 5 years old. Play: the greatest tool for development and learning is self-initiated play, which leads to excited and vigorous participation. Practice: activities with limited time on the ball generally will have limited benefit. Activities that engage in movement with the ball, and frequent passing, receiving and kicking will facilitate greater growth at an individual rate within a group environment. Simply put, the more you do it, the better you get! Understanding: within did rugby junior/senior classes our coaches focus not only on teaching children how to perform a skill, but also to start building an understanding of why the skill is needed. This is then implemented into a match scenario so that our children can see where the skill can be best utilized and understand its function. With the assistance of real "Tag Rugby Belts" the children explore the match concept and integration of the skills that they have learnt during the session in a safe, non-contact setting. We take time to introduce the more technical aspects of Rugby through our fun and engaging methods. Did rugby junior/senior combines a series of activities that use imaginative play, familiar games and visual skill to engage the interest of the child and ensure maximum enjoyment for all participants! Whether your personal preference is getting involved or sitting on the sidelines is fine by us, on the small proviso that whatever path you take it’s the children that always remain the most important part. In didi rugby plus it is not a requirement to stay and watch but it is encouraged. Each didi rugby class comes complete with two coaches to ensure that each week every didi rugby player receives some all-important one-on-one tuition, which is instrumental in ensuring that even the shyest child soon feels part of our friendly team.
