Stocks Green Pre-School Welcome to Stocks Green Pre-School – an engaging and stimulating environment for your children. Sessions run from 8:45am - 11:45am and 12:00pm - 3:00pm.

Welcome to Stocks Green Pre-School – an “outstanding” place for your children. We are a non-profit making registered charity and have been in existence for over 20 years. Situated in Hildenborough, we provide sessional care for children, from 2 years 6 months to 5 years. Our aim is to provide a happy, caring and loving environment where each child is valued as a unique individual, regardless of colour, gender, creed, ability or background.

We had a very busy week at preschool this week. In forest we used palm drills and wood slices to create our own necklaces/door hangers or bag charms. In preparation for sports day we started tie dying our t-shirts in our team colours and had our first practice sessions - the children all did fantastically well and were so enthusiastic cheering each other on. We spent time creating fantastic designs on our threading boards, we created our own 'bug hotel' to play with and also practiced our cooking skills cutting up different vegetables, preschool smelt amazing. We hope all our families have a wonderful half term and enjoy the sunshine 🌞 , we look forward to welcoming you all back from Monday the 1st for our final term of the academic year!

We have had another fab week here at preschool. In forest we have been using Mallets to create our very own natural paintings. We practiced our coordination and physical skills trying out a game of hopscotch in the garden. We have also been applying our colour knowledge and experimenting with colour mixing using coloured water alongside many different craft activities. We had a great week at preschool last week, we were busy practicing our counting, number recognition and size ordering skills by measuring items we could find in the forest, we also built our own dens using the resources we could find around us. In preschool we did some magic painting incorporating pen control skills, colour and science. We also explored insects and colour sorting.

We have had a great first weeks of summer term, making the most of the fabulous weather. In forest the children have enjoyed painting pebbles and practicing our physical skills climbing rope ladders and swinging, we have made car ramps using wood and the logs around us and found lots of insects on our bug hunts. In preschool, we have been practicing our fine motor skills using threading activities which is great for developing our writing. We have worked together to build huge car tracks and small worlds and put our creative skills to good use painting all sorts of different materials.

✨ Where the calendars will go:

We’ll be donating Advent calendars to Stocks Green Primary School and The Community Food Larder to reach families who might need them.

We’ll also keep a small stock at Preschool and in the Little Library by Stocks Green’s main gates — perfect for anyone in our wider village community to quietly collect one.

✨ How to donate:
If you’d like to donate a calendar (chocolate, dairy-free or any kind), please bring it to Stocks Green Preschool or drop it off with our Committee Chair, Charlee, at:

We have had a fun filled week at preschool this week, doing everything autumn/pumpkin! The children have explored pumpkins, carving them, modelling expression and emotion through pumpkin flavoured play doh, painting them and even added a few playdoh spiders in there too! In forest we have explored the outdoors through Bark rubbing, autumn bug hunts, mud kitchen potion making alongside lots of physical climbing and swinging. We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and look forward to welcoming you all back next week for more autumnal fun.

We had an incredible week last week at preschool. We used spray bottles to paint practicing our grip/pincer skills, these help develop the muscles for pre-writing. We have made musical instruments to use in our circle time, we have also explored the dinosaur swamp and painted with ferns.

This week we have been continuing with our Autumn theme using sticks to mark make and going on an Autumn scavenger hunt in our forest sessions. We practiced our numeracy skills using pool noodles and shaving foam! Very messy but great great fun! We also had great sensory fun on our tuff tray exploring different teas - we practiced our pouring, we had some fantastic descriptions of smells and lots of opportunity to explore colour mixing. We hope you all have a great weekend
