Sackville School

Sackville School Boasting very small class sizes, education to GCSE and A-Level. Leoni Ellis
Headteacher

A Co-Educational Independent School, from Year 7 through to Sixth Form, set amidst spectacular Kent countryside in Hildenborough, between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. At Sackville we offer an inspiring environment for the education of boys and girls in the belief that within every one of them is the talent and potential for excellence waiting to be discovered. We believe that unearthing that talent is

the role of every teacher and all of our staff are encouraged to employ inspiring and challenging teaching to bring the best out of our pupils and prepare them for the world – a world which is very different to the world that we, as adults, were prepared for by our teachers. Small class sizes also ensure that we are particularly adept at meeting individual needs and our aim is to nurture happy, well-rounded and successful children. The most important thing about this focus on the individual is that it arises out of a very real sense of family and community. This community is a wide one, encompassing many constituent parts and it is my greatest pleasure to be able to work with pupils, parents, teaching, non-teaching staff and owners; all of whom contribute to make Sackville such a wonderful place to work and study.

Jack had a fantastic summer of athletics, competing in several events and achieving some outstanding results. He was delighted to be selected to represent Kent once again, before finishing the season at the England Athletics U16 Octathlon.

Jack held first place for almost the entire weekend and achieved an incredible seven personal bests, as well as breaking a club record. During the high jump, he cleared a new PB of 1.82m, but unfortunately injured himself attempting 1.85m and was advised to withdraw, despite being on course to challenge a British record.

Unable to compete in the final 1,000m event, Jack remarkably still finished 4th overall. He came incredibly close to becoming U16 National Champion, making his achievements over the weekend even more impressive.

A huge well done to Jack on an exceptional season!

STEM Club in Action!

Our STEM Club has been taking learning outdoors with some fantastic hands-on challenges.

Students explored hand-eye coordination, control and precision as they guided drones across the school field, before taking to the skies with kites and investigating how wind speed, direction and forces influence flight.
