Well that was fun! On Saturday 41 of the team went for a late brunch at Broadway Steak & Wine to celebrate Firbobs 20th Birthday.

It was poignant that the restaurant was opposite our first home, Grange United Reform Church. So many people remember the Walking Bus from Town Lane Infants and Higher Beb Junior schools to the Church each day, wearing hi vis jackets, singing songs, holding hands and dropping hats, bags, teddies and coats along the way. Cars wud beep and locals wud wave 👋

A few pics of the team in the restaurant, outside the church and the impromptu walking bus to the Kings to finish the day off 😝 So much fun was had, it was great to see everyone let their hair down and have a good laugh. So very much deserved.

Big shoutout to Broadway Steak & Wine for absolutely outstanding service and quality food. The team went above and beyond to make our special day a truly wonderful experience ❤️

***A massive HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY to FIRBOBS***

On this day 20 years ago Firbobs opened it's doors for the very first time ❤️ A walking bus of less than 16 children left Town Lane Infant School to walk up to Grange United Reformed Church Hall on Broadway Roundabout. The Church was Firbobs very first home and was joined by a few children of Higher Bebington Juniors. Many other schools have joined the Firbobs family since ❤️

We just wanted to send a thank you to all the families within our Firbobs community for being part of something so special because without our children and families, Firbobs would not be what it is today. To our team members, past and present, we owe a huge gratitude for their commitment and hard work. Many of them work tirelessly to make a difference to a child’s every day life.

We are lucky to be working in some of the very best schools in Wirral and are supported so much by our Head Teachers, Governors and whole school communities.

Happy 20th Birthday to Firbobs and a special thank you to everyone who makes Firbobs what it is 🎂🥳🎈🎁

Our Summer Holiday Club has come to an end.
What a wonderful five weeks we’ve had together! 🥳 We really hope your children have enjoyed their time with us as much as we have enjoyed spending it with them. We spent the first four weeks trying to keep cool in the sunshine ☀️☀️☀️ then finished the final week dodging the rain 🌧️ what a change!

The children threw themselves into so many fun activities, including tie-dyeing, two days of inflatables, two animal encounters, water play, daily colouring competitions, messy play, foam and playdough fun, and biscuit and pizza making. 🍕

We also made lots of special memories on our trips to Maize Maze twice, Wizz Kidz, Jumping Joseph’s twice, Ashton Park, Eastham Woods for some much-needed shade on a hot day 🥵 Lazer Quest, Riverside Bowl, Adventure Land, Vue Cinema, and Tower Park playground.

Our next Holiday Club will be October half term, Monday 26th to Friday 30th October. Plans have already started and bookings will open on 5th October.

All Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are now at capacity.

Where has the school year gone?

Tuesday 23rd June we will open the bookings for the Summer Holidays.

We will be open from Tuesday 21st July to Friday 21st August.

Initially, bookings will be open for children who have attended Holiday Club this school year, then children who attended last summer and finally those who attend Firbobs term time but haven’t been to Holiday Club before.

We don’t anticipate being able to offer childcare for children from other schools that haven’t been before.

Bookings must be made by WhatsApp to the Holiday Club phone number.

Just a quick update on availability for May Half Term Holiday Club. Despite bookings only opening yesterday morning we reached capacity for all sessions just after 6pm yesterday.

We have started a waiting list as I do anticipate a few cancellations.

Let's hope the weather is warm, dry and not too sunny so we can enjoy lots of outdoor as well as indoor activities.

Firbobs@Town Lane is recruiting as our lovely Manager is retiring at the end of the Summer Term. The Team and the children are seeking an inspiring Out of School Club Manager to lead our well
established Breakfast and After School Club in Higher Bebington.

This is an exciting leadership role that's provides the opportunity to make a real difference in a vibrant school community and shape a provision that supports children to thrive beyond the school day.

The salary for the role is £20,500 - £24,000 (actual salary) dependent upon skills and experience. The role is an average of 25 to 30 hours per week (Term Time only).

Any candidate who wanted to work all year round then we can offer this as we operate a Holiday Club based at Bedford Drive.

Good morning,
I've had a number of very organised parent/carers checking on our opening over summer so they can manage their Holidays.

We will be open from Tuesday 21st July to the Friday 21st Aug. Closed the week of the 24th and open for Breakfast & After School Club when schools return, mostly the 2nd Sept.

Bookings will open on the 22nd June

Prior to that we have:
February Half Term (16th - 20th Feb) Very limited availability
Easter Holidays (Monday 30th March - Friday 10th April). Bookings will open on 2nd March
May Half Term (Tuesday 26th May - Friday 29th May)
Bookings will open on the 6th May
