As our first week comes to a close, it’s been wonderful to see the energy return to Wycombe Abbey.

Thank you to our pupils, staff and families for making it such a positive start to the year. We hope everyone has enjoyed being back as much as we have.

At this year’s staff INSET, we focused on deepening our understanding of the Sixth Form experience and how, as a whole school community, we can best prepare pupils for university and life beyond Wycombe.

We were delighted to welcome a panel of Seniors, chaired by Assistant Head (Sixth Form), Jacky Tidbury, who shared candid reflections on their journey from school to university and into early careers, offering invaluable insights into what they wish they had known or done differently.

A huge thank you to Bea Ralston (2016), Isabella Rees-Evans (2019), Sonia Zisman (2019), Ruyi Rix (2020), Katie Foreman (2021), Georgia Gray (2023) and Laila Hall (2024) for helping us ensure future Wycombe Abbey girls receive the very best preparation for the next stage of their journey.

We're delighted to see Wycombe Abbey featured once again in the Tatler Schools Guide 2027, celebrating the UK's leading independent schools.

"The much-used word 'community' feels justified here, with girls known, encouraged and, most importantly, listened to."

The guide highlights our exceptional academics, extensive co-curricular programme and strong sense of community, praising everything from our global outlook and outreach initiatives to large-scale musical performances and sporting opportunities.

Clarence House roundup 2025-26! 🤍

The Class of 2026 has much to celebrate, with offers from leading universities across the UK and around the world reflecting the hard work and determination they have shown throughout their final year at Wycombe Abbey.

Carrington Talks, Caledonian Society events, House outings and Clarence traditions ensured there was plenty to enjoy alongside the deadlines, bringing the year group together through some unforgettable moments.

As their time at Wycombe Abbey comes to an end, the girls leave with much to be proud of. We wish them every success and happiness as they take their next steps beyond School.

What a wonderful year for Wendover House! ❤️

From a third-place finish in House Shout to winning both the Sports Shield and Commendation Shield, Wendover had plenty to celebrate. They also claimed first place for both Best Decorated Charity Stall and House Spirit on Bonfire Night, while raising an impressive £1,283.50 for charity.

Others highlights included House Dance, Spotlights, House Ensemble, Guys and Dolls, Lacrosse Nationals, Christmas tree decorating, and the much-loved Thursday Takeovers, where everything from Mario Kart tournaments to crêpe making brought girls together.

The new TV room quickly became a favourite place to unwind, with movie nights after busy days becoming some of the best memories of the year. We can't wait to welcome everyone back next week!

Welcome to our Resident Tutors for the 2026-27 academic year!

Over the past two weeks, our new RTs have been preparing for the unique and rewarding role they play at the heart of Wycombe Abbey life through a programme of training, induction and team-building activities.

Resident Tutors are a valued part of our community, supporting pupils in House, in the classroom and throughout the wider life of the School. Bringing a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives, they help create the supportive and vibrant environment that makes Wycombe Abbey so special.

What a fantastic year it’s been for Shelburne House! 💙

15 new girls became part of the House Family Tree, 907 commendations filled the boards, and the year was packed with Flippin’ Fridays, ‘Hot Chocolates and Chats’, pumpkin carving, House Dance, Guy building, Daws Hill rounders, and a time capsule that won’t be opened until LVI.

There were exchange adventures, national competitions, unforgettable performances, charity stalls raising over £370, and plenty of crepes and Mons movie nights along the way.

Most of all, it was the everyday moments that made Shelburne feel like home, and the House can't wait to welcome new faces through its doors next year.

A year in Rubens House! 🩷

From a record-breaking House Dinner welcoming 175 guests to collecting 1,200 cans for One Can Trust, it has been a memorable year for Rubens. Highlights included victory in House LAX, first place in the Dove Day raft race and an impressive second-place finish in House Shout. 🥇🥈

Australian exchanges, festive traditions, charity initiatives and new leadership teams brought girls together across every year group. More than its many achievements, Rubens is defined by the strong sense of sisterhood that runs through the House.
