Babies use all kinds of gestures and signs as a natural part of learning to talk. Encouraging your baby with extra signs like milk, more, change nappy or tired will help your baby communicate! Learning to sign together with Sing and Sign is easy because we make it fun to learn. Your baby will recognise important words sooner and can use signs to "talk" to you before speech!

We have lots of fun each week in classes…and it invariably means things like lots of silly faces from us! This is just a little snapshot as we gear up to start our new term next week.

We are looking forward to welcoming our existing families back and seeing how little ones have grown, as well as meeting our new families too.

Who, what, where, when, why?!

The above post channels a bit of Romanian (hopefully!)…the native language of a new little one settling in with one of our nursery partners and who doesn’t yet know any English.

So, as we love to go a little above and beyond, we will do our best to join the nursery staff in learning and including a few phrases in our upcoming sessions! Hopefully it will help the little one to feel involved and also link the signs to their meanings, supporting learning a whole new language.

Signs are especially useful in this multilingual scenario, as the child will be able to communicate even before fully mastering the new language. Two languages…two words…one meaning…same sign to connect it all…magic!

Not long now till we’re back at Beaconsfield Library for some more fun running Bounce & Rhyme!

Learn the amazing skill of signing together starting this September!

We always say the word when we sign it so that communication and understanding are enhanced - not replaced - by the signs. Children naturally use gesture to communicate, so giving them a repertoire beyond a wave for hello, or arms up to be picked up, can really support their speech and language development.

With our Babes (0-6 mths), Stage 1 (6+ mths) and Stage 2 (14+ mths) courses, you can start at the age that suits your little one.

Sheep! 🐑

Just this one simple sign could potentially allow your little one to start so many conversations before they can talk and that is exactly what Sing and Sign is all about!

Whether it is in a book you’re reading, or maybe you go on holiday and find yourself next to a field of sheep (like me!), you never know when this motivational sign might come into its own, which is exactly why it’s one of many we include in our courses.

Eclipse ready….DIY style! (Well, when I’ve added the crucial pinpricks!)

Another day, another day trip…& more chances to use some of our favourite out and about signs!

This time, we finally made it to Brill for its windmill and play park 🛝

The park has separate sections for older and smaller children, with plenty to climb, slide and swing on for each. Meanwhile the hills beneath the windmill create some fun spaces to roll around and maybe even encounter a roaming cow 🐄!

We managed coffee and lunch on the way home at BASE COFFEE + KITCHEN, where it was also possible to enjoy a spot of beanbag toss with a view - bonus!

Great chance to practise signs for ‘park’, ‘slide’ and even ‘swing’ yesterday as we unexpectedly got an early peek at the new play park at Waddesdon Manor!

Let’s just say it meant we were the last cars in the car park (!) & it was great for slightly older ones but also for the younger ones who could run and climb.

Children go free over the summer and there are schedules of free activities too, so we had a great time and it’s worth checking out, especially if your Sing and Signers are a bit older or have bigger siblings to think of too!
