Come and Play Pre-School Hazlemere Well established pre-school providing a happy, stimulating and safe environment for children aged 2-5 The pre-school is run by 4 members of staff.

Come and Play Pre-school aims to provide a happy, stimulating and safe environment in which children aged from two years can learn through play with adult support and encouragement. We support children with special educational needs and or disabilities and children for whom English is a second language. We receive government funding for up to 15 hours a week for children aged 3 years and over. The pre-school is a non-profit making organisation supported by a voluntary committee. We are registered with the Bucks Early Years Partnership and Ofsted and are members of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share that Come & Play Preschool will sadly be closing in July, after 55 wonderful years serving the Hazlemere community.

Sadly, due to very low child numbers, the preschool is no longer financially sustainable. Quite simply, without enough children attending, we cannot afford to pay our staff and meet our legal obligations.

This decision is not a reflection on the quality of the preschool, staff, or leadership, it has always been an excellent setting, but a reflection of the difficult reality many small preschools are facing nationally.

We want to ensure any information shared regarding the Pre School is factual and accurate. Come & Play Preschool is not being closed by the church. The preschool and Hazlemere Free Methodist Church are separate legal and financial organisations. The church has always been supportive but does not fund or subsidise the preschool. We hope this clears up any prior misinformation that has been shared.

Thank you to all the families, staff, volunteers, and community members who have supported Come & Play over the decades. It has truly been a privilege to be part of its story 💛

We would like to sincerely thank the church and committee for their continued support.
