Pipers Corner was founded by Miss Jessie Cross, an inspirational woman who had remarkable ideas for the education of girls in a single s*x environment. The school started with 11 girls in Grove Park in Chiswick in 1930, moving to Richmond Hill in 1931 and splitting between two sites in 1935, the second being Prestwood in Buckinghamshire. The school finally settled in its current site in the winter of 1945. By 1955 the number of pupils had doubled and there were 162 girls attending the school. Additions to the school took place throughout the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s included the Chapel, an outside swimming pool, the new building and subsequently Founders Wing and the Landau Hall. In more recent years the inner courtyard was transformed into the glorious atrium, the Orchard Pool was built and a fitness suite was added. Today, Pipers Corner is a magnificent school that has 590 pupils ranging in age from 4 – 18 years and a small and family orientated boarding community. The ethos of academic excellence coupled with a nurturing environment that encourages every girl to achieve her potential, is the same one that has prevailed since the school’s conception over 90 years ago.

Congratulations to Evelyn H and Seanna H, who both had outstanding results at the Welsh National Summer Meet over the Summer holidays.

Evelyn qualified for eight events and brought home four medals (one Silver and three Bronze), alongside multiple personal bests and final appearances across the Freestyle events.

Competing at her first Welsh Nationals, Seanna enjoyed a phenomenal debut, winning seven Gold medals and one Silver across Breaststroke, Backstroke and Individual Medley events.

Our first whole-school Assembly of the year was a celebration of student voice, courage and reflection.

From Years 1 to 13, students shared their highlights, challenges, achievements and advice for those following behind them. We also enjoyed two wonderful musical performances from a Year 12 student and one of our brand-new Year 7s.

Speaking in front of the entire school is no small feat, and we were incredibly proud of every one of them. Their stories were a powerful reminder of how quickly school life passes and why it's so important to make the most of every moment.

🐾 Pipers Dog Show | Sunday 20 September 🐾

Tickets will go on sale tonight at 2000 hours.

We are delighted to announce the very first Pipers Dog Show, taking place on our beautiful Terrace Lawn on Sunday 20 September.

For one afternoon only, our Terrace Lawn will be opened up to families, staff and their four legged friends for a relaxed, friendly event filled with light hearted competition, an agility display, charity stalls and a delicious afternoon tea in the Terrace Tea Room.

🎟️ How to attend | Attendance is free, but all families must book an entry ticket via the Pipers Corner Box Office. Competitions are optional and have a separate cost if you wish to take part.

- Competitions
- Agility course
- Flyball demonstration
- Puppy Yoga sessions
- Charity guests
- Plus many more pet-themed shopping and activities

🐶 Competition entry
• £6 per dog, per class
• Maximum of 3 classes per dog
• Maximum of 12 dogs per class
• A waitlist will be available, with additional classes added if demand allows

🐕 Please note all dogs must remain on leads at all times and full event rules apply. Terms and Conditions will need to be signed when booking competition entries.

What a fantastic start to the new school year at Pipers!

From the moment our gates opened this week, the site has been buzzing with positive energy as we welcomed new and returning students for the start of another exciting year.

Our Year 7 students enjoyed a dedicated Team Building Day, giving them the opportunity to make new friends, build confidence and settle into life at Pipers through a range of fun and engaging activities.

Elsewhere, anticipation was building in the Department as students returned to rehearsals for this year's school production, Sweeney Todd, working alongside acclaimed musical director Russell Scott. We cannot wait to see this production take shape over the coming months!

With classrooms full, friendships rekindled, and new opportunities already underway, it has been wonderful to see our Pipers community come together once again.

Every tree tells a story, and this autumn we'll be starting a new chapter.

After necessary woodland management work over the summer, we're preparing an area of our grounds for the planting of 105 new native saplings. Thanks to support from The Woodland Trust, students and staff will have the opportunity to help create an extended woodland that will grow alongside future generations of Pipers girls.

It's an exciting project that combines environmental stewardship, hands-on learning and a commitment to protecting and enhancing our natural surroundings.

We can't wait to get planting!

Over the Summer, it was great to see The Team have achieved fabulous results.

Well done Phoebe L, Lucy S and Ella-Ann E for finishing third in the highly-competitive Hurst College National Schools Competition at The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead. Also, Congratulations to Phoebe L for being crowned British Show jumping Just for Schools 80cm Champions.

This morning, the sun is shining and the Pipers gates are open to welcome students for their Induction Day before term starts in full tomorrow.

After a summer of adventure, relaxation and making memories, our site will once again be buzzing with energy as students reconnect with friends, meet new classmates and prepare for the exciting opportunities ahead.

We wish all of our students a fantastic Induction Day and look forward to seeing what they achieve throughout the year. Here's to a successful, rewarding and memorable school year at Pipers!

Over the summer, 15 of our students from Years 8-11 joined the Department on an incredible four-day trip to Iceland.

Our students explored some of Iceland's most spectacular landmarks, including the bridge between the continents of Europe and North America, Strokkur geyser, Solheimajokull glacier, and Thingvellir, the site of Iceland's first parliament. Highlights included witnessing breath-taking waterfalls and relaxing in the Secret Lagoon, a naturally geothermally heated pool.
