A diagnosis — like autism or dyspraxia — can mean different things to different people.

For some, it’s a key to understanding, helping schools, families, and peers provide the right support. For others, it can feel limiting, adding labels or stigma.

We’re exploring this conversation across platforms and would love you to get involved:

Comment below:

Has a diagnosis helped you or someone you know access support?
Have you ever felt boxed in or limited by a label?
How can we make diagnoses empowering rather than restrictive?

Let’s rethink how we see diagnoses — not as limits, but as tools to unlock potential.

This , we’re thinking about the small steps young people can take today to support their mental health and build towards their future.

Looking after your mental health is part of looking after the person you’re becoming. That might mean talking to someone you trust, recognising when you’re struggling, finding ways to manage difficult feelings, or using tools that can help when things feel hard.

That’s why we’re sharing a range of free apps from stem4, designed to support young people with things like anxiety, low mood, self-harm urges and managing negative thoughts and emotions.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. Building your future can start with understanding yourself, finding what helps and taking things one step at a time.

Hearing from families about the difference our programmes make is what drives us every day.

When Laiken joined New Meaning Training, confidence was low and the future felt uncertain. Today, Laiken is leaving with greater independence, stronger communication skills, a renewed love of learning, and a clear plan for the future.

This feedback is a powerful reminder that with the right support, guidance and opportunities, young people can thrive and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Thank you to Laiken's family for sharing their journey with us.

1 in 20 young people now report having no close friends.

That’s five times higher than a decade ago.

New research from IPPR has highlighted just how disconnected many young people in England are becoming. Young people today are reporting fewer close friendships, lower levels of confidence and increasing feelings of loneliness and distress.

The research also found that nearly 1 in 10 16–24-year-olds felt lonely “a lot of the time” in 2024.

But behind those numbers are young people who are trying to find their place, build relationships and work out what comes next.

For us at New Meaning Training, that is why connection matters.

Education isn't just about qualifications. It's about having people around you who know your strengths, opportunities to try new things, the confidence to take part and a place where you feel you belong.

We know that progress looks different for every young person. Sometimes, one of the biggest steps forward is simply starting to believe that you have a place and a future worth working towards.

Young people deserve to feel connected – to themselves, to others and to their future.

“Believe in yourself. We do.” is our mantra at New Meaning Training.

Every young person has potential. Sometimes, they just need the right environment, the right support and someone in their corner to help them see it.

At New Meaning Training, we’re here to help young people recognise what they’re capable of and take their next steps with confidence.

Because we see the potential in them – even when they don’t see it in themselves yet.

Believe in yourself. We do.
