Support Communities in Nepal

As many of you will be aware, severe flooding in Nepal has caused widespread devastation, leaving thousands of people in need of support.

We're thankful that our local partners and guides are safe. However, many have staff, family members and communities within their networks who have been directly affected by the flooding.

As emergency relief efforts begin to wind down, our trusted community partners are preparing to support those experiencing the longer-term impacts of this disaster. We're collecting donations to help fund these grassroots recovery efforts.

Did your World Challenge expedition change the way you see yourself or the world around you?

We're looking for former World Challengers who are passionate about sharing their experience with the next generation of adventurers. As a Student Ambassador, you'll join occasional parent information Zoom sessions, talk about your expedition and help inspire future students to take on their own challenge.

Successful ambassadors will receive full training, mentoring and £15 per presentation.

"World Challenge's philosophy is excellent. My daughter went on a trip many years ago (pre-covid) so I know it from the perspective of a parent as well.
Our students have learnt a lot, the lessons of navigating travel in a developing country, not having the teacher tell them what and how to do things or where or how to spend the money allocated each day. Great for the teacher also to step back and supervise without directing or leading.

"Our school’s expedition to Morocco with World Challenge was an exceptional experience that blended cultural immersion, personal growth, and genuine adventure. From the moment we arrived in Marrakesh, the vibrant colours, bustling markets, and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for the journey ahead.

A particular highlight was working alongside a rural community to support their primary school. The project was both challenging and fulfilling, giving students the chance to make a tangible contribution while developing teamwork, empathy, and resilience.

The trek through Morocco’s highest mountains brought intense heat and demanding terrain, testing everyone’s endurance and determination. Despite the challenge, camping beneath clear, star-filled skies and waking to breathtaking views made every step worthwhile. Students learned the value of perseverance, mutual support, and pushing beyond comfort zones.

The expedition concluded in the beautiful seaside town of Essaouira, where the relaxed pace, stunning coastline, and rich history provided the perfect setting to reflect on everything achieved.

"The best part about our World Challenge trip was that most of the students were able to learn how to be with each other away from devices, whether in nature on a hike, snorkelling with turtles or contributing to the Gibbon conservation. We all told stories, shared jokes and laughs, sang karoake and had to adapt to each other's quirks just like in the real world of travel. Seeing nature was amazing, turtles, tarsiers, slow lorises, flying squirrels, macaques, gibbons, sun bears, orangutans, luminescent scorpions, all manners of insects and flora."
