Well here we are at the end of another fantastic year. We had a lovely leavers party last weekend to say goodbye to our fabulous school leavers. We are so proud of all of you and know you are ready to take on your next big step. You will all flourish we’re sure.
As is tradition we have attached pictures of our staff and ourselves showing our plans for the summer break.
The team have formed the Waltzing Wizards Morris Wonders and will be taking part in the Saddleworth Rushcart on 23rd August 😉
We have been practicing our magic act in the hopes we land a job as entertainers on a cruise ship. Our stage names are Electra the Empress of Illusion assisted by Guinevere the Mystic.
We wish you all a lovely summer break and look forward to starting it all again in September.
Much love Kelly, Maggie and Team # # #

A little while ago we applied for a Local School Nature Grant from the charity Learning Through Landscapes funded by the Postcode Lottery. There were a limited number of grants available so we’re really excited to let you know that we were successful and have been given £500 to spend on outdoor equipment plus a climate curriculum kit valued at £150 and a days training for the staff from a specialist in outdoor curriculums.
We are really looking forward to all the exciting activities and learning opportunities we will be able to offer to your children.
This weekend, 25 - 27 May, we're hosting our first Family Festival in the Chatsworth Garden! You can learn bushcraft, archery, kite-making and circus skills, or take part in a musical safari, water super soaker battle, and mini Olympics. Popular children’s authors and illustrators, Lydia Monks and Bethan Woollvin, will be staging draw-along and storytelling sessions, and you can join artist Abigail Reynolds for kaleidoscope and periscope making workshops. Entry to the festival is included with house and garden or garden tickets, and all activities are free.

Our defibrillator has now been purchased and installed. Thank you to everyone for all your fundraising efforts. We had a little left over once it had been fitted. Kelly and I rounded this up and made a donation to the British Heart Foundation as it seemed a fitting charity.
Thank you again and let’s hope it’s never needed 🤞
Due to growing numbers we are excited to announce that we have vacancies for two level 3 staff and one apprenticeship. If you feel this is something you would be interested in please get in touch and we can discuss it further with you.

Wishing all our families and friends a peaceful New Year. We can’t wait to hear all about your holidays when we see you again next week # # #
Here we are at the end of another term, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and for letting us get to know you and your children and trusting us to care for them.
As is our tradition we have attached our seasonal staff pictures.
This year the team have been enjoying Carol singing for the passers by, Stef and Nat have been doing their best to collect enough for them all to get a hot chocolate at a local cafe!!!
As usual Kelly and Maggie are involved in some misdemeanour ! This year Santa has asked them to help the elves prepare Christmas dinner so that Mrs Claus can put her feet up. We’re not sure if the two of them were more mischievous than the elves!!
We wish you all a peaceful Christmas and hope that 2024 is a good year for everyone.
Kelly, Maggie and team xx

We have had the best start to our new year, this half term has been so busy with all the areas of learning worked on in the most fun and unexpected way!
We use in the moment planning so never know what the children will engage in with us each day. We have made dens, sand challenges, water provocations and playdough exploration.
We set up our rooms each day with varied invitations to play and are always fascinated with the way the children’s imagination takes us on a journey of discovery.
We have just had our food hygiene inspection and have retained our score of five.
We hope you have all had a lovey summer and are refreshed and ready for all the Autumn term has to offer. We are all looking forward to catching up with everyone and sharing each others news and experiences. Good luck to all those starting school tomorrow, we’ll miss you but know you will all shine knowing your teachers will support and encourage your individuality just as we have.
See you tomorrow! Kelly, Maggie and team # # #

That’s the end of another very busy year. Thank you to you all for choosing us as your childcare providers. We have loved getting to know all of the children in our care and helping them develop into such happy, clever, caring little people.
We wish all those moving on to school the best time and know they will all shine. We are looking forward to seeing the rest of you again in September and welcoming some new faces.
We are now a very full and thriving setting. Kelly and I can’t thank you enough for supporting and believing in us. We would also like to say how proud we are of our team, they support us in all we ask of them.
Now they are all dancing off for the summer, with Courtney doing her best to keep up!!
Kelly and I are spending our summer attempting to build an extension as we’re so busy!
Have a lovely summer everyone.

We have had a really busy term, trips out and about to the canal, the park, the woodland. We’ve been searching for mini beasts, caring for our fruit and vegetables. We had a fab party for all our children moving on to school. A mummy who originated from Sweden came in and taught us a dance for Swedish mid summer and a daddy came in and joined in our it’s a knockout games this week!
We wish you all a lovely summer break and look forward to welcoming you all back in September. Xx
This is worth knowing about during the summer break.
One to save for later ❤️
We hope you have all enjoyed the coronation bank holiday weekend and have had lots of family fun.
We enjoyed the week building up to it and took part in lots of coronation activities.
We’ve had a busy start to the summer term, over the last two weeks we have been planting out our vegetables. We’re hoping to get crops of potatoes, leeks, carrots, beans and tomatoes.
We have freshened up our herb garden and have been working on the wild garden and ponds.
We have learnt so much and enjoyed every second. We built our scarecrow today, isn’t she beautiful?
We have also planted sunflower seeds for our tallest sunflower competition. We made our own labels and faces for our crazy cress hair pots too.
We have also had fun in the mud kitchen with petals, leaves, shaving foam and water. We have been encouraging our plants to grow by playing musical instruments and singing to them.
We are looking forward to another busy week next week when we take part in all our coronation activities too.
What do whole grapes and mini eggs have in common? They’re both the perfect size and shape to completely block a child’s airway. And, due to their texture they can be difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.
With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isn’t as easy. So, what can you do?
1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself – good luck with that!
2. Put the mini eggs into a sealable plastic bag and smash them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar.
3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.

Tragically, two young children have died within days of each other after choking on food. One little boy choked on a grape.
The size and shape of whole grapes means they can block a child’s airway and can be difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.
That’s why grapes and other round foods such as cherry tomatoes, blueberries and cherries should be chopped in half lengthways and ideally in quarters before being given to children.
