So you may have noticed we've been a bit quiet recently on the socials. We have enjoyed a bit of a break and rested the wood after an amazing year delivering our Alternative Outdoor Nature Education programmes, after school clubs and SEND holiday clubs.

We did welcome back children this week for our BEING Awesome SEND holiday club....it felt great to be back.

We have honoured the play of the children and let them deep dive into their interests without the interruptions of a photo opportunity, so here are a few that let the children play!

SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB UPDATE...

This summer we are doing things slightly differently.

Sadly we were not able to secure funding for our Holiday club this summer.

So we have put together a 3 day programme to support all children using our usual therapeutic, trauma-informed low demand approach with 1:4 ratios that we know from feedback our families love. We have reduced the cost to the minimum but we must have all 16 places booked to run, but plenty of time to do so.

It does also mean we can take bookings from those living outside Derbyshire, and we have opened single day tickets too, which we hope will help too. Our team will welcome your young people and work closely to support them in every way.

🦋BEING ME: Alternative Education spaces available for both 1:1 or small group (4:2 ratios) at our private Alternative Education Woodland - Shield Tree Wood

🍄 BEING TOGETHER: Small nurture groups at your school setting to support the inclusion of children who would benefit from a learner-centred therapeutic approach in nature.

🌳BEING CREATORS: Our after school clubs can run after a busy day at school. We can tag these onto your Forest School programme.

A super creative week at our Alternative Education programmes in Shield Tree Wood.

Young people making deeper connections with the space, creating a sense of safety and feeling able to challenge themselves whether that be forging new friendships, regulating enough to access their session for longer or try our new bushcraft skills.

We have an opportunity for a Therapeutic practitioner to join our growing team of Alternative Education Providers at our woodland - Shield Tree Wood in Thornsett, near New Mills, High Peak. Initially Wednesday AM but will likely grow in time.
