Nursery Practitioner Required

First Steps Nursery are still searching for that perfect person to join their team.

We are looking for a nurturing, caring, and inspiring individual. You will have zest for life, a love of the outdoors and a passion for the importance of children playing and being outside. Your days will be fun, messy, outdoors, creative, explorative, child-led, but never the same! The early years are a magical time and we want people in our team to harness every child’s individual sparkle, to nurture that seed of magic with love and care and to inspire every individual child.

We are a forest nursery and work hard to entwine nature within the setting, bringing nature in and making the most of nature when we are out! We welcome applications from practitioners qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Early Years childcare but also accept applications from non-qualified candidates who share our desire to reconnect children with nature. Any Forest School qualifications or experience are a bonus but not a requirement, as we train in-house.

In return we can offer the successful candidate -

a guarantee that it will never be boring! No two days are ever the same

ongoing training and continuing professional development to build and enhance your knowledge and skills

a setting which is rated GOOD by Ofsted

BUPA employee assistance offering both emotional and practical advice and support

good opportunities for career progression

a generous holiday entitlement

pension scheme

off road parking

staff room facilities

a permanent, all-year-round position.

and most importantly, a friendly and supportive team who work closely together to provide the best experiences for the children in their care.
