Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery, Chapel en Le Frith

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Cheeky Monkey families (past, present and future) a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year ahead. Today has seen the first of our Christmas party days!!!! We had a yummy party lunch, we had Christmas crackers and lots of Christmas music!!!! Christmas is sneaking up on us!!!! Today has been full of festive fun and cheer!!!! What a great Christmas party day!!! 🎄🎅🤶

Today we had an exciting visit from the local Police force coming to talk to us all about stranger danger and our own safety. We are aiming to make our visits a regular thing to increase awareness and confidence for the children. We had a chat with Karen our local PCSO and talked about all her equipment. We even got to go in the police car!! We learnt about ways to keep ourselves safe and which people in our community are there to help us. We had a such a great time!! We learnt about stranger danger, what to do if we get lost and so much more. We are hoping to make Karen's visits regular in nursery.

We love dressing up and even better when it's Christmas dressing up!!!!

Today our cheeky elf decided he was going to build a new santa's workshop at nursery. He must have got started in the middle of the night while we were all sleeping. He got tired as we came in so we decided to help him and carry on building until we created a great workshop for santa. Building the new workshop took a lot of teamwork and working together. We worked very hard using lots of different size and shaped bricks to make sure we made the correct structure. We had to make sure the workshop was big enough to create, build and wrap all the presents. This took a lot of thinking and focus to be able to make sure all the walls lined up and that the shape was tall enough and high enough. Measuring it against ourselves to make sure it was tall enough to fit people in. We had such a busy morning.Creating the workshop, developing teamwork skills alongside our mathematical and hand eye coordination skills. We had so much fun we hope santa likes his new workshop! What busy little elves we have been.

Christmas has well and truly arrived at nursery! We are fully in the festive spirit 🎄🎅 from Christmas crafts, nativity role play, Christmas singing, and even our Cheeky elf making an appearance!! We have so much fun in the lead up to Christmas. Learning and developing all the time as we get super excited for Santa's visit 🎄🤶💫

Today we have had a fantastic mini athletics session!!! All themed around magic and unicorns. We had such a great time moving our bodies, exploring our movements and developing our control of our bodies. We really got stuck into moving around and having fun to keep ourselves warm and toasty. Becoming unicorns and dragons really made us use our imaginations. What fun for our start to the afternoon.

You may see a few new additions to our hallway and sleep room. These lovely animal boards are huge and were painted by our "big Lisa" some 20 years ago and are still in fantastic condition. They have been at Jungle Monkeys all this time but they have sadly closed. It seemed only right that we bought them. We will always think of Lisa as part of our team so it is nice that we have these jungle animals at Cheeky Monkeys to remind us of her 18 years with us. They are real statement pieces of art!

At nursery we love to role play!!! From shopkeepers, family's to tea parties. We have so much fun expanding our imaginations and our creative thinking. Having fun with friends making stories and experiences come to life. Always creating and having laughter together.

The babies loved our strictly come dancing themed baby bloom class today. They had lots of fun shaking their rattles and wearing their feather boas. Such great fun and such a lovely sensory experience!!!

Today we had a great mini athletics session where we became postal workers!!! !We had so much fun delivering parcels and letters and hiding from grumpy dogs whilst counting our deliveries! We moved our bodies in so many ways and controlled movements jumping from high to low quickly. We love using our imaginations and getting active in play.

Winter is truly upon us, and look how pretty it is! We love snow at nursery and, with the arrival of some lovely fresh crisp snow, we just had to get out in it! We had so much fun from snow angels, snowmen all the way to snow races!!! We made sure we were well togged up in our suits, wellies and hats etc.- trying to do this all by ourselves too. Then to warm up after with a nice warm drink. We had so much fun!! We love snow ❄❄

This week we have been super busy at nursery!!! We have been fundraising like crazy, raising money for BBC Children in Need. You name it we've done it - crafting, dressing up, baking, raffles and so much more!!!! We have really enjoyed all our fundraising activities and have had a great time raising money for such a fantastic charity!!! We managed to raise a grand total of £275!! AMAZING! Well done everyone. We have drawn our raffle and our winners are Atlas and Malika!!! Well done! Thank you so much for everyone's generosity and for joining in the fun! Well done everyone!!

We are having a great week so far, doing all our fundraising for BBC Children in Need we are super busy!!! We are dressing up, crafting lots of pudsey bears, baking yummy cakes and not forgetting our raffle, which is going to be drawn on Friday, so not too late to grab some tickets!!! We want to raise as much money for charity as we can!!! We are having so much fun and the week is only just beginning 😁😁

Today the baby room had a lovely Bloom High Peak and Macclesfield Baby Classes being Wizards! They all had a magical time with themed props and the catchy bloom songs. We think they make some very cute witches and Wizards 🪄🧙‍♂️✨️

Today we had lovely mini athletics session themed all around Kings and Queens 👑 We had to make crowns, wear crowns, then turn Abby & Chloe into Queens and Gareth into a Prince. We had so much fun wearing crowns, moving our bodies in so many different ways and using our imaginations. What a great session. We all made great royalty 👑👸🤴
