Why is the bonfire not on bonfire night? Bentham bonfire has always been the week before traditional bonfire night. This means it doesn't clash with oth

er displays in the surrounding area so they can all come to us and we can visit theirs. It also means we can book a fantastic professional company for the display because they're not already booked up at larger locations. It also coincides with school half term, so is a great attraction for families visiting the area. What time does the firework display start? The event will begin with the lighting of the bonfire at 6pm and the fireworks will follow at a suitable time once everyone has enjoyed the fire, the food and the activities and the bonfire has burned down enough. We're encouraging people to come and experience the evening as a community event so the lighting of the fire will be the starting 'event'.
