🌱 Some very exciting news from Whitfield C of E School! 🌱
Over the last couple of months, plans have been set in motion for the transformation of our garden area. We were delighted to welcome a team of Gamekeepers from Whitfield Estate who worked incredibly hard to remove the old broken fence and install a brand-new one, allowing us to see what is growing at all times.
They also repaired the planters, dug over the beds that the WI had tended earlier in the year, and ensured the whole area was secure and visitor-ready — all in just one afternoon!
Yesterday, Mrs Black continued the transformation by creating a vegetable plot, a fruit bed, a butterfly garden and sensory beds. She planted a wide variety of plants that she has been collecting and purchasing using gifted vouchers.
We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful and dedicated community. The teamwork, generosity and support shown have made a huge difference to our school environment, and both the children and staff would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible.
From donating plants, fertiliser, vouchers, pots and equipment, to giving up time for the manual work involved, every contribution has been greatly appreciated.
